We had my son's 3rd bday party today. He had a blast and I feel the need to reivew with pics.
I wrapped yarn around styrofoam balls and attached them to ice cream cones. 12 cones for $1, $7.50 for yarn, and $4 for the styrofoam. I hung 6 from our dining room chandelier and 6 over the food table.
I had a bunch of yarn left over so I made these for centerpieces. I figured out that grocery bags work just as well as styrofoam. I had a trifle bowl and 2 spoons (!borrowed another trifle bowl from my mom).
Ice cream cone pinata. $15 at Hobby Lobby.
For apps I made deviled eggs, and a huge veggie tray with ranch dip and shrimp dip. Dinner was a simple chicken and noodles and mashed potatoes with rolls. Sure it was carb overload, but it tasted great. There were peas and carrots and celery in the noodles for a little crunch.
My husband made a board for me to put the ice cream cone cupcakes in. I put the cones in a mini muffin tin and filled them to bake. The cones were crisp when I took them out, but mushy by morning. I read a review that cake mixes with pudding did this. Of course I read that AFTER I baked them. Oh well. They tasted great.
I even dressed the baby in an ice cream shirt.(okay so this is more about my kid being cute)
And now I'm ready to start thinking about her bday party. Maybe butterflies?
