True Blood 9/11 (spoilers)
Awww...I will miss Jesus. Tara not so much, but still quite a shock to see her head blown off.
Absolutely thrilled at the thought of Russell Edgington coming back, and that the pathetic Bill-Sookie-Eric love triangle might be over for now.
Best parts of the episode: Bill and Eric in matching bathrobes, and Eric's line: "Nan. Gay storm troopers."

Re: True Blood 9/11 (spoilers)
Can someone refresh my memory as to why they'd put Russell in that cement instead of giving him the true death?
I thought the bathrobe scene was a little funny and she was getting a little too excited remembering her little fantasy.
I liked Eric and Bill working together.
I am hoping Tara is gone for good. What are the odds that Eric or Bill will hear her calls, come there, and then give her their blood and save her? I couldn't believe Sookie blew Debbie's head off. Whoa.
Oh, and, the freaking guy from the Church of the Sun or whatever?
I thought he was dead, who the eff made him a vampire?!?
It's interesting that they're bringing all this old stuff back. I haven't even thought about it in ages.
I hated this finale. I thought it was really disjointed and random.
Though, if Tara is really dead it will have been worth it.
67/200
Godric told Eric not to kill Russell, so I assume that's why they chose to bury him over giving him the true death. I LOVE that Russell is coming back. I missed him this season.
I'm 50/50 on whether Tara is dead or not. There is still the possibility of saving her or turning her. AB probably doesn't even know which way he will go right now.
Newlin being a vampire will definitely be interesting next season.
I felt so bad for Pam. Maybe she'll get her own storyline next season, which would be well deserved. She's a great character.
I really like Alcide, so I'm hoping for at least a Sookie/Alcide hook-up. However, I do believe that Sookie needs to be alone for a while.
Poor LaLa, he's had a rough time. He lost his lover and possibly his cousin within hours of each other.
Unfortunately, I don't think Tara will die. Eric or Bill will save her. UGH!
I was thrilled that the Marnie story lined ended.
Glad Debbie is dead.
Sad Jesus died.
Russell was a good villian, it will be interesting with him back. I was not happy that they brought Newlin back though.
Curious as to where they are going with the Terry storyline and his old Marine buddy that showed up tonight.

This finale was absolutely the worst. I was expecting a lot more from it but it was very random - lots of touchy-feely crying moments, and then again 20 people died (I exaggerate of course)...I just wasn't feeling it.
The love triangle is getting super annoying and I'm glad it seems to possibly be ending. I was kind of hoping Sookie would end up choosing Alcide.
Poor Jesus. I think that we'll still be seeing him around though, since like he said to Lafayette "I'm dead, and you're a medium. I'll always be with you."
This. I was not sad when Tara was killed. I just hope she stays that way.
Whatever happened to the fairies? I am guessing they will bring them back next season?
I am genuinely surprised at the Russel Edgington and Steve Newlin returns.
I don't think Tara will be killed, I think Eric will save her. Which means Bill and Eric have saved her life (or spared her, I guess) and it will impact her vamp-hating.
I was sad to see Jesus die. I like Lafayette's character better pre-Jesus, but I was still disappointed.
And I know pp said the finale was random and disjointed, but that it basically TB's m.o. Every season, they wrap up the plot lines early and set up next season with the finale. (Bill's proposal and werewolf kidnap, the is-Lafayette-dead cliffhanger, Jason's Hot Shot kidnap, Sookie leaving for fairyland, etc) So after the previous 3 seasons, I was expecting the finale to be nothing but a big cliffhanger for next year.
I am surprised there was no return of a pregnant Crystal though, because that has to be coming next season.
I enjoyed the episode for the most part. I don't think Tara is dead I agree with those who said Bill or Eric will save her.
I had a really big issue with how Eric and Bill we're taken by Marnie- how did that happen? they just glossed over that whole thing and oh look- they're tied up. ???
I'm so sad that Jesus is gone...I really liked his character. Tara...not so much, but I'm bummed that they'll (Eric or Bill) probably bring her back.
Also, does anything think that Lafayette will be bruja now (since that was done in his body)?

this pretty much sums up how i feel. to the other poster who said that the finales are usually just set ups for the following seasons: that may be true, but this one just wasn't done in a good way. the cliffhanger is really crap as we can see from nearly all of the previous comments, apparently very few people actually care about tara and whether she'll be saved for next season. the only mildly interesting 'cliffhanger' is newly-vamped christian guy. but the rest of the episode just made me raise my eyebrows and say, "really?"
I was so sad about Jesus, although I had a feeling that was going to happen. Poor Lafayette.
I have a feeling that's not the last we'll see of Tara, maybe she will get turned into a vamp.
I am hoping for a Sookie/Alcide hookup, Alcide is such a good guy. And I'm thinking of her talking about sitting on the porch w/her grandbabies, which obviously won't be possible if she ends up with a vampire.
I am sad that Rene was warning Arlene about Terry, I love Terry! I think his friend that showed up seems like trouble though.
I had a feeling Russel would be back sometime since they just buried him and didn't give him the true death, but I was shocked at Newlin! him being a vampire should be interesting. I loved that whole Fellowship of the Sun storyline in Season 2.
I like Alcide but the chemistry between Sookie and him is so strained. When he tried to even (what was that?) ask her out (?) last night..it didn't feel like sexual tension, it just felt weird and not right. The only part that did look right was her odd look at the end of the scene where she sort of seemed to consider what that might be like..but I really think that her being with him while people want it--would end up being weird, and the fans would complain (like they did with Eric this season).
I don't know if anyone will save Tara...she seemed pretty messed up. How messed up can a person be before a Vamp just says "I can't save a person with--you know--half a head."
I wonder who the wolf was who was standing behind Sam at the end.
I loved Andy and Holly--a small part but cute.
I'll miss Jesus.
It will be interesting to see what they do with Russell and the Reverend, that was funny.
There were funny parts last night I thought, and sweet parts. Ginger and Pam, and when Bill gave his blessing to Sookie and Eric--I loved that entire scene it was great.
Considering past finales, I didn't think is was as cliffhangery as usual which I liked. I'm hoping them ending the love triangle will make way for an ultra hot Quinn.
I wish the finale had somehow introduced Quinn.
As much as Rene was a bad bad man, he is right when he told Arlene that he would never hurt her - he loved her. He never did anything to her even when murdering others. And Terry has been acting more and more off this season. Remember how he kinda flipped some weird PTSD switch when Mikey went missing? I think its a combo of normal PTSD and probably some really bad stuff he did with folkies like Scott Foley when he was serving.
To me, it sounded as if Rene was warning Arlene about Terry's past coming back to hurt her, not necessarily Terry himself. When Terry said to his friend to meet his wife, his friend got this really weird look on his face.
I'm 50/50 on the finale. I guess I'm the only one not psyched about Russell coming back. I just feel like been there, done that. I want something new, I don't want old storylines brought back. I figured it was coming with Jesus but I'm really sad he's gone. That last scene with Debbie/Tara/Sookie took me back, that was a shocker I didn't see that coming.
Ooh, I hadn't thought of that, but that would be cool.
I wonder if the fairy who made Andy Bellefleur "pledge" to her is going to come back all pissed off that he's dating Holly.
And what is the deal with Pam anyway? Is she still rotting on the inside, or did that end with Marnie's death? She still looks a little scary, but I wasn't sure if that was deliberate.
I really liked the finale.
I was thrilled when they were at the cement hole and the having possibility of Russell coming back. He was hilarious so I'm excited that he might be coming back.
I felt bad for Pam but thought it was cute when Ginger was trying to comfort her. I loved Pam's vent about Sookie being a stupid name and the comment about her "fairy vagina."
I was surprised about the whole Nan thing. I was not expecting her to die.
I have to admit I was happy when Tara died. I just hope that Bill and Eric don't rush to Sookie after sensing she is in trouble and somehow bring Tara back to life.
I will miss Jesus and I felt bad for Lafayette. They were so nice together.
I'm interested in Terry and his friend and how Rene came back to warn Arlene about him and how he will bring trouble to her. Maybe Terry's friend is a vampire now?
I'm glad Andy is finally off the V and I hope it works out between him and Holly. They seem like a good match.
I thought it was hilarious that the Fellowship of the Sun guy is a vampire now. I remember early on in the season there was slight mention of him being "missing" and the protesters in front of Fangtasia had signs up with his face and that he was missing. I guess he was abducted by vampires and turned. That should be interesting next season. Especially if Russell is coming back. Maybe Russell had something to do with it somehow?
I'm hoping that because so many characters died this season that they will be introducing new characters next season.
All in all I thought it was much better than last season's finale and I'm excited about next season.
I was really surprised when they killed Nan since she said she left the AVL and the Authority and was basically on their side. So are Bill and Eric going to take on the whole of vampire society now? How is that going to work? I have to admit that I have really loved Bill this season which is weird because I can't stand him in the books. I really like this multifaceted Eric too.
Yeah, this was weird, but I guess that's what's keeping me interested in next season. The point I suppose is that their #1 priority is keeping Sookie safe, even if that means sacrificing themselves, and no one can know what she is.
I'm loving Eric. I always have
I believe that taking on the AVL is suicide and Eric and Bill know it--Nan wanted them to join her rebellion but they weren't going to do that--plus Nan is a b!tch...they both wanted her gone--when she wasn't "protected," anymore--why not!
Also, I just have to say something about Rene that drives me crazy.
He doesn't really have a Cajun accent! That was fake!! Whenever he shows up he has it--but he had a regular Southern accent and had to learn the Cajun--they showed the tape with the "learn Cajun" in the first season.
The only think I can figure out is that Arlene only knew him with the Cajun...so that's how he appears to her--Sookie knew it was a ruse...and that only made him more creepy! He was a total sociopath going so far as to learn a new way of speaking to keep up an alternate life!
This drives me nuts for some reason. /end rant.
...--Rant add on... Oh also, in a previous post awhile back someone pointed out that the score was starting to interfere with the show--Whenever Tara and Sookie talk about Gran--they play the same score. It sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Gran also drives me crazy. I don't know why, but she does.
//really. I'm ending the rant now.
I've been dying to talk about True Blood--my only friend who follows it is on vacation this week.
I'm in the minority here, but I have not been happy with the direction of the show the past few episodes. I know a show that includes vampires, fairies and other supernatural creatures requires a certain amount of suspension of disbelief, but c'mon--it's gotten pretty stupid the past few episodes. I rolled my eyes so hard when the vamps were being pulled against their will to the force field around Marnie's store I thought they'd pop out of my head.
I think I first started getting annoyed when they deviated from the book re: Eric and Sookie's relationship. Not that I think they should follow the book verbatim, but if they were going to go with the whole Eric/amnesia storyline, then I think they should have continued with him gaining his memory but not remembering what happened when he stayed with Sookie. I loved how in the book it drove him nuts that he couldn't remember what happened and how it bothered him that he was actually having feelings for her--that would have made for a lot more funny Eric quips/tension with Sookie in the rest of this season, if not into the next. I feel like the writers painted themselves into a corner with this whole love triangle thing by keeping Bill too likable. In the book she was pissed enough to maybe have lingering feelings, but know she'd not act on them because the betrayal was too great. Oh well, maybe like people have speculated, this will open the door for Quinn or Alcide.
I was bummed when Nan got offed--I enjoyed watching her bitchiness. I doubt Tara is gone, she'll get saved somehow.
Loved that the Rev. showed up again. I was NOT expecting that, and I think that has the potential to be a really interesting story line. I love Russell too, but I figured he'd pop again sometime since they left that storyline wide open.
I'm totally sick of the fairies and hope they don't play a big role next season.
I liked the pp suggestion that Terry's old war buddy was a ghost...and ditto about the weird look on his face that Terry was married. My first thought was: what, does he have a crush on Terry or something? Maybe Terry left behind a lover/child when he came home from the war?
I'm disappointed they killed off Jesus. I mean, come on, first Southland, now this? Are you kidding me? Let the man live for once.
It's especially irritating because they kept saying one of the big reasons he left Southland was for True Blood. Although that never made much sense to me, they film at two different times. But I know nothing about the "industry", so what do I know?
Snow!
<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home DI'm thinking that Eric and Bill will rush to Sookie (and her stupid fairy vagina lol) because they can feel her fear and will either save Tara, or turn her because she is too far gone to just save.
They didn't address Andy having sex with that fairy from last week, but I thought it was interesting that Holly was a fairy for Halloween.
Very sad about Jesus, pumped about Russell, and kind of miss Rene.
Just finished watching this from my DVR and all I can say is HOLY WOW.
Didn't see Newlin coming at all, I don't know that they can save or turn Tara with half of her head blown off. For those that read the books it makes me think if they turned her she'd have mental issues like Bubba (which is a character I wish they'd brought into the show because he provides awesome comic relief in the books).
As for killing of Jesus I was bummed this is the 3rd show I have watched this actor in where his character has died (Ugly Betty, Southland and now TB).
I really hope that they set things up for the Quinn character to appear it will do good for Sook to have a relationship with someone other than a vamp for a while.
I wonder if the were in the scene with Sam was Marcus seeing as how so many of the "dead" were back from that spell that Sook, Holly and Tara cast near the cemetary. I believe it is possible that Terry's friend was one of the ghosts as well.
Next season has the potential to be awesome. Hopefully it doesn't start out slow and draggy like this season did.

If it helps, I heard he was in the running for a big part -- Law and Order SVU or something? I forget, because it wasn't a show I watch, but I remembered thinking, "Damn, if he gets it he's probably getting killed off True Blood." He's a really solid, likable actor, hopefully he'll do well.
Found the reference, this was in June. Hope it worked out for him.
