Willa no longer wants to be Dorothy for Halloween. I'm glad I didn't start her costume. Now she's thinking Word Girl (a PBS superhero and all around smart little lady).

Good morning!
Jinxy's weird behavior continues. As I mentioned previously, about a month ago, she quit sleeping with us at night. Now, she's flat-out afraid of our bed -- you pick her up and put her on it and she runs out of the room like her tail's on fire. Weird.
Then, two weeks ago, she decided she doesn't like to take her medication anymore. For almost three years, she's been taking it great. My phone reminder/alarm would go off, and she would come running. She liked to get her pill because then she'd get a treat. Now, she runs away from us when it's that time. I don't get it! Otherwise, she seems normal. Still loves to play and eat. She's just a bit more aloof than normal, although not really skittish or lathargic. I wish I knew what was going on in her head.
Wedding is over finally that I was in - thank goodness. I am tired and am getting sick. Not a good combination.
Word up! Word girl is awesome!
I was wondering. They both have the sweet dance moves in common. I think it would be a great costume for him!
Hi!
So much to do this week! I get to go home on Friday, though! Cannot wait to see my kitty and just be home. It won't be all relaxing--Friday afternoon we're closing on a refinance in GR (yay!), and Saturday will be a very long day with a trip to Indy to celebrate another nephew's birthday. And I have an assignment due Monday morning, so need to leave EXTRA early.
On top of all that, I've been stricken with allergies or a cold. Runny nose, lots of sneezing, dry/itchy throat. All of my meds are at home and we have lots, so I don't want to buy more for just this week.
These weird behavior changes always mess with me, too. While I was off, everyday I would wonder whether G was sleeping more than usual, puking more than usual or doing anything differently than "usual."
In the end I've concluded that as long as she is eating, drinking and using her litterbox as normal, then everything is probably okay.
Do you switch up the treats she gets with her meds? Maybe she's just decided that the treats are no longer adequate compensation for the meds
GRSP...love that Willa wants to be a smartie for Halloween!
Kasa...Stewie always gets rediculously weird around full moon time. There was one this past weekend I think...maybe that is part of it? Stewie decided he was afraid of the ceiling fan in our living room this weekend. Would look at it and run out of the room like he was posessed.
Jim and I had a somewhat tense conversation about our future house selling strategy this weekend. I suggested looking at the budget for fixing up the bedroom floors (either refinishing the wood below the gross carpet or getting new carpet), or maybe looking at dropping the price a little bit. His response was... not positive, and he suggested maybe we just live here for a few more years.
And then I picked the couch up, and threw it at him.
No, of course I didn't, but I was sure frustrated.
I think we're on the same page now. But I'm not sure.
Captain Huggeyface and Word Girl? Cartoon character names are awesome and Toby might have new nickname.
Kasa - I hope Jinx snaps back soon. Our kitties went through a strange phase where they fought and hated each other. It lasted about 2 months, and has only happened the one time since we've owned them (almost 4 years). Cats are weird.
DP - I hope this week flies by and you're home before you know it!
GRSP - I'm sorry you're dealing with the housing frustration. It's definitely difficult to decide how much money to invest if you chose to fix up, how much to price drop, etc. - especially if you're feeling pressure due to wanting Willa to have the best education possible. I hope you figure it out soon, and also take heart that from what I've read about Willa, she'll be fine no matter where she is. She seems like a kid that would shine no matter how many classmates she has, how her teacher is, etc. She has a supportive family and often times that can impact education the most.
Ugh - selling real estate is very stressful. Has your real estate agent been able to give you any insight as to what your course of action should be?
Awesome story! Loved it.
Dont have you on FB so dont know the gist of the story.
1) I should have paid more attention to today's weather report. I sent the girls to school in pants. They are going to be warm by this playtime this afternoon. Ughh...Wait..they have backup outfits in their cubbies. I wonder if I should call and have them change their clothes at naptime. I feel bad that my lack of planning puts extra work on them.
2) Allsion flat out refuses to wear jeans or pants (like kakahis, play slacks). Sweat pants/leggins only. I don't think it is a button or zipper issues since she wore shorts with them. She was doing the same thing at the end of winter/spring last year. I was hoping that when "long pants season" started again, she wouldn't raise a stink. I told her this morning to give jeans a try for 5 minutes and sure enough about 5 minutes later she came to me and said "I gave it a try mom. I don't want to wear them."
3) I was really hoping for a growth spurt for Mia before jean season started, but that didn't happen. All her pants are so long on her. Although I don't mind her shortness for a few more weeks/months. I think her shortness addes to her cuteness.
I can't blame her though. Stretchypants are awesome.
Why is it when everything is just starting to go smoothly and your just starting to get things caught up on something HAS to go wrong. Grrr!!! Car issues I HATE!!!! you.
This morning on the way to the office Dh couldn't get the car to shift gears like it should. We have a manual. Se either the Tranny we got last year is going out, the clutch is going out or Heaven only knows what else. So today instead of trying to finish a client we had to postpone the client to work on car. DH thought that the clutch might be going a few months ago and was planning on using some of the $$ coming in to take care of it. It just happens to be the amount we need is the amount that is outstanding from the client we postponed today.
I just read the blog...that is sooo cool! You have such a thoughtful DH. Way to go Andy!
Diana, feel better soon! I actualy did just switch treats with Jinx. Hmmm... perhaps you're on to something there.
Amachuta, that's weird about Stewie and the full moon! Goofy kitty. Jinx has been off for a month now, so I don't think it's moon related.
GRSP, sorry to hear about the house frustrations and Mr.GRSP frustrations. No fun. Glad to hear you're back on the same page.
Juli, so glad to hear that you had a wonderful weekend! I'll have to check out your blog.
Deeder, sorry about the car issues. I hope it's a quick and easy fix.
Check awkwardfamilyphotos.com to push off the tears. Sorry you are having a tough time right now.
Sorry you are so overwhelmed Kasa. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel?
The end of the tunnel is January 13.
That's a long ways away!
Also, there's a brief interlude when we'll be on vacation for 10 days in October. On one hand, I'm super excited for the break. On the other hand, I'm concerned about the extra work before and after, in order to accomodate for the break. My fall was not anywhere close to this crazy when we booked this vacation in June.
Oh no!! awkwardfamilyphotos is a good suggestion. Look, this one even has a cat!
Awwww.
I had that same background for my school picture in first grade. Yay, for 1989!
Kasa - You need to print this picture out and put a little speech bubble coming out of his mouth that reads, "You can do this. Just focus."
I was never allowed to get lazer backgrounds. Only traditional grey or blue. I felt like such a loser.
Kasa, I'm sorry about feeling overwhelmed. I hope laser kitty helps for a minute.
Juli, thanks for the encouragement/reassurance. Willa's school issues are part of the move frustration. I think yesterday's conversation was spurred by the thought of us moving in February when there's snow and ice. I'm also tired of trying to remember which box I put different things in when we were trying to declutter. Selling the house is a powerless place to be in, and I don't much like it.
