sewing stretchy to non stretchy fabrics - edit FO PIP
I'm trying to make a dress similar to this for my DD
I have the t-shirt and I have the fabric (cotton) for the skirt. I just am not sure how to attach the two to each other. My concern is that if I ruffle/gather (I have a ruffler foot) the skirt and sew it straight to the t-shirt that it won't have enough give for her to be able to pull it over her head and down her chest.
But if I put elastic in the skirt, I'm afraid that's going to be too bulky at the seam.
WWYD?
