Car trouble - UGH!

UGH!

So my husband let me borrow his car to drive out to visit my parents because my car is old and I don't really trust it on longish hiway trips.  But, while I was using his car, he used mine and managed to get the drivers side window stuck down all the way.  We can't get it back up!  I took it in today and they want stinkin $350 to fix it.

No way.

My dad works a dealership and said he could do it for $150ish BUT I would have to miss work to drive 1.5 hours to go do this.

I should have just let them rip me off.

Maybe I should just buy a new car.  This one is 11 years old and has a $300 ish problem every 6 months or so.

Re: Car trouble - UGH!

  • Ugh, that's annoying.  It's tough when there's a bunch of little problems to know when to just pull the plug.  With my last car, it was having electrical problems and had trouble starting - at least we knew that was a bigger problem than we wanted to deal with.

    Good luck!

  • I feel your pain!!! My car is 10 years old and I really enjoy not having a car payment. But every few months I feel like there are always little problems.. The latest is my check engine light came on for a day and then went off.  I know I am probably making the problem worst but I haven't taken it in yet.

I really like my car and alway tell myself that I would rather just pay the little things on this car than have a new car payment and most likely higher car insurance every month..

Plus once something breaks I always say well I got another 10 years before I have to fix that again.. hahahah

  • Thats why I finally broke down and bought a new car.  Mine was 10 years old, had 150,000 miles and I was always repairing it.  It eventually got to the point that I was spending more it fix it then it was worth so I just sucked it up and bought a new one, even though I REALLY hate having a car payment.
