mom update
hey ladies,
sorry it's been a while--the begining of the school year is always hectic, and this year, even moreso. just wanted to give you an update on my mom...
...her surgery has been postponed until september 22nd. my whole family (including her) live in pennsylvania, and were all evacuated from their homes late last week because of flooding. if you saw any news coverage in wilkes-barre, PA, that is my now-aquatic hometown. it was INSANE. my dad's RV actually FLOATED AWAY. (and some dude had the nerve to say to him today "you know, we don't appreciate your camper in our tree." ...my dad replied, "well, i don't exactly appreciate it there either, buddy." ...but i digress.)
so needless to say, roads were closed, and neither my mom nor DH and i had any way to get to the hospital in harrisburg. and even if we did, the hospital took on a good deal of water and was closed temporarily.
do you want to hear the best part? the evacuation happened on my mom's BIRTHDAY. i could not make this crap up if i tried!
thanks so much for all your kind wishes in the last few weeks. i'll definitely keep you updated as the situation unfolds.

EDIT: i can't believe i forgot to say that other than my dad's RV, there was no damage to any of our family's homes or property, and nobody was injured. we have MUCH to be thankful for!
