Anyone ever have a scratch on their eye?

I'm trying to decide if I have a scratch on my eye or not... I'm hoping I'm overreacting, b/c heaven only knows when I'd be able to get in.  One day last week, my left eye was really watery, and ever since then it's sore in the same spot at the end of the day. I know a lot of you guys wear contacts too... wasn't sure if anyone ever had anything like this happen to them.  Thanks!

  • I haven't so I can't tell you what it feels like. Jay has though and when he went to the eye doctor all they told him to do was wear an eye batch for a week or so until it started to feel better. There wasn't a whole lot else to do except keep dirt out of his eye and let it relax and heal. He loved looked like a pirate for a week and making up weird stories as to why he was wearing the eye patch...boys are kind of weird though Indifferent

  • I have, I don't have contacts though.

I had a piece of metal in my eye that got caught on the back side and scratched the hell out of it. It sucked because there's really nothing you can do about it.

  • Go see an eye doctor, and stop wearing your contacts. If you do have a scratch, wearing your contacts could damage your eye more. And you only have two eyeballs, so it's better to be safe than sorry.

this. and if you wear your contacts for long lengths of time or overnight you can develop sores. if they go untreated, it can permanently damage your eye. ive been there and it just feels kind of irritating and achey. like theres something in your eye when there isnt.

go see an eye doctor and stop wearing your contacts.

  • I've had a scratch on my eye, but I don't wear contacts, it was from a flying rock that I got in the way of... it just felt like there was something in it, but you could actually see the scratch if you looked at my eye. I would just go sooner rather than later like the others said. My mom freaked out and made me go as soon as she got off work and found out (this was in middle school). I just needed 2 weeks of medicated eyedrops and I was good as new. Hope it's something minor!
