Re: IN Get Fit Challenge!

  • Hey ladies!  Last week's cruise tossed me off track on my goals, but I'm determined to get right back on the wagon.  I'm back to eating healthy and watching my portion sizes!  I have a 6k coming up in October that I'm training for too, which is going pretty well.

  • Hey!  Onesly - way to go, getting back on track so quickly.  I gotta say that I've been off my game since the Bologna/Geneva trip because we brought back some goodies.  Exercise has been OK, but I haven't been eating as well as I could.

So I'm starting off a new year right - yesterday I ate all the crap I wanted (it was my birthday after all), but starting today I'm going to up my exercise and go back to allowing myself treats only twice a week.  I'm not sure if I can meet my goal by October, but so long as I'm feeling tight and good I will be happy.  Just a few days without exercising hard makes me feel as if I'm getting soft and I don't like that feeling after getting used to feeling strong.

    Good luck everyone!

  • I've been having such a hard time with my back the last few months that I haven't really been doing any exercises (aside from some basic core exercises from my physio).  It's starting to drive me crazy though, and I need to get back to working out.  Unfortunately, anything high impact is not recommended for the moment, so there goes my running and jillian michaels routines. So, DH and I are looking back into joining the gym so we can start swimming.  We'll probably do some lessons at first to get some decent technique.  Hopefully we'll get that organized in the next few weeks.

My diet has kind of been up and down.  I need to be better about that.

  • Hi ladies. It's going well but really slowly. I'm starting to lose weight the last couple of weeks. I'm about 4 kilos down in total but would like to lose 10-15 more. I'm running, lifting weights, doing ab work and stepping pretty much every day. I'm eating the minimum and keeping my nutrients in daily.

I can't wait to see some muscle definition but I'm already feeling the difference.

Possible QOTD - what do you think of body building both male and female?
  • Last week I realized that in three weeks time I have to fit into a bridesmaids dress that fits my sister--my size smaller 30B sister.  This caused me clean up my eating habits and start working out like a house afire.  Last week was great.  I feel great because I'm eating better and I did some combination of running/swimming/low weight dumbbell/squash playing every day but Sunday.

Today I ran 5k and swam 2k.  I'm surprising myself with how tired I'm not given that I've been working out 2x a day.  If I can't zip this dress week after next I am going to be pissed.

  • Id like to be apart of this please.

My goal is to go back down to a size 2 (so lose one dress size) i know ive put on about 10lbs since my hubs came back from Afghan, Id also like to run a 1/2 marathon once i get to the US.

Thinking of doing this one :http://www.napa2sonoma.com/

    anyone done this??

  • I hopped back on my low calorie meal plan last week, and I'm definitely feeling better. I had sesame chicken and chips from the IL's restaurant the other night and definitely felt like crap afterward from all of the grease/sugar.

I realized that I've been vitamin deficient which was making me tired all the time. Restarting my multivitamin and calcium supplements have helped tremendously.

I need to step up the workouts, but I'm hoping to be down to a size 14/16 by December. I've been dancing around the room for 30 minutes every day with D, taking long walks and doing one of my exercise DVDs two to three times a week. I'll be restarting the 30DS a few times per week and doing some pilates on off days as soon as I get my house cleaned properly.

  • I've been doing really well.  Right now, I am working out at least five to six days per week for roughly an hour.  I'm enjoying it too and I think it is starting to pay off!  I've noticed a difference in how tone I am.  Yay!

One potential questions could be what motivates you to get fit and also, why do you think you stall?

  • I haven't been doing too great with my healthy eating/exercise plan.  With our sudden apartment move, we have been busy packing/unpacking so hitting the gym was a rather low priority.  However, now that we are more or less settled into our new place, I have no more excuses!
  • Oh!! I want in on this.  I still have about 10 lbs of pregnancy weight to drop to get back to my pre pregnancy weight, and after that I could certainly stand to tone up.  I would like to drop the weight by the time we go home for the Christmas holidays sometime in mid-December.  So I guess my goal is to drop the 10lbs by eating better and working out 3x a week.

I got motivated this week when I went in for a dress fitting for one of Dhaka's many expat balls and the tailor asked me "how many months with baby will you be when you wear the dress" When I told him I was not pregnant he then offered to change the cut of my dress to hide my tummy. Yikes.
