Next craft project

I just got a tracking # for my wooden letters to make a few of these!

Re: Next craft project

  • FUN! Must see your finished project when it's done!

I hate moving and I just want to be DONE! But when it is...I don't know how I'll focus and put the house together as I just want to run into my new craft room (all for me and my arts and crafts and no cranky husbands or destructive kitties allowed) and PLAY and MAKE STUFF.

I need to start drinking more wine...I used up most of my non-sentimental corks to make a trivet for my sister, time to replenish my stock! I want to make this mat for my new kitchen: thrifty, fun, and cork is supposed to be good to stand on when you cook :)

  • Settling in after moving is overrated! That rug would look cute though!

The cork letter is supposed to go on the gallery wall I started to put together when we moved into the house a year and 1/2 ago!

I have friends and family collect corks with me and DH and I bring them home from restaurants.

This was my stash a few weeks ago when I was making a corkboard for a friend.

  • Oh that turned out NICE!!!! My trivet was a btch since I went to the Home Depot and bought my own trim and then couldn't get it to line up well and corks can be slightly different in height and diameter.

  • The frames/trim are the worst! The first cork board I made I was so mad. My dad and I cut a bunch of the corks to make it fit. I knew that wasn't the look I wanted - but once they were glued in, I didn't have much choice.

When we finished that board, my dad took some measurements - ran the numbers and custom built me 10 frames for future boards.

  • That's awesome of your dad! He must have a miter saw? I had to hand saw that crap with a little miter guide and tiny saw, it was so obnoxious

I'm a lucky girl, he has a woodshop! The use to build cabinets and hope chest in the winter in AK to make extra money when we were growing up.

  • That's so cool. :) My dad has always liked woodworking/building things. I used to hang out with him and his tools when I was little. Sadly, he had to get rid of a lot of things when they had to downsize to a condo..buh-bye table saw! I can't wait to get our own power tools, but will have to. Pricey buggers :)
