Bridal Shops

Where to go for veils and shoes?

I have a friend coming into town this weekend and that is on her list of must do's. I have no idea style or anything because all the details about the "super secret big day" are well, super secret, including the date at this point.

Re: Bridal Shops

  • Will she be back here?  For veil I suggest having one made because it's often much less expensive - however I don't know what she wants.  I didn't look at bridal shops for shoes because... well, 'bridal shoes' at those shops weird me out.  I would just go 'regular' shoe shopping.  Are you going with her?  Hard to suggest unless you know what kind of thing she's looking for.  But probably Nordstrom, Macy's etc.
  • anything *but* a princess bride in bothell. email me if you want details about why i completely disagree with their business practices.

    All of that.

If she doesn't want to spend a lot on a veil, I'd suggest checking etsy. I got my birdcage veil for like $15 there.

  • Yah I have no details. I would imagine she won't be coming back through Seattle any time soon, but hell for all I know they could be eloping this weekend.

I figured normal places for shoes - but she kept saying bridal stores. And since I didn't get married here I was just going by google.

I might go with her - I might not, it depends on the priorities. The amount of stuff they want to do in their time here is ridiculous.

Oh and they really don't know how much time they'll have here because their flying standby and starting to try to leave sometime Thursday night - hoping to be here by Friday.

LOL sorry, but your friend isn't really giving you anything that would be remotely helpful in order for you to help her!  Um, yeah, I guess ditto husky on locations and Etsy is a good suggestion.  Or just tell her to look at Zappos if they aren't planning on getting married this weekend!

They got engaged like 3 weeks ago - but It really sounds like they're trying to pull something off soon.

First thing I'm doing when she walks off the plane is handing her a glass of wine to see if she fesses she's knocked up or something to figure out the rush of this wedding.

FWIW - it's her 2nd wedding and she has a 5 year old little boy. It's the grooms first wedding.

give her a congratulatory shot for her engagement....tequila or something.... wine you can fake drinking slowly, a shot, you can't, unless you pour it out quickly behind your shoulder haha.

  • I found my shoes at David's Bridal in Tukwila and then sent them off to get dyed silvery-lavender.
    Daisypath Vacation tickers
  • I got my veil and shoes online, there is always overnight or rush delivery .

I had a great experience with obridal.com They can make any kind of veil, and it is WAY cheaper than any store I know of.

Shoes:  My favorite sites are zappos.com or endless.com

  • Surprisingly Moms Maids and More in Bellevue has those. I got my shoes there. I also agree with checking out Nordstrom for shoes or online.
