I saw Ali & Marcy asked below about some stalker info.
Here we go (get ready for a long story).
This was from a while back (Sr. year of HS into the beginning of college), but since then I try to be cautious of the information I put online. Though sometimes I have a duh moment, but still try.
My senior year of HS I was working at a local movie theater. I loved it! I had been there for over a year when this guy started working there. I was working the afternoon shift and I was on my way out when he was coming in for his first day. I introduced myself then quickly left no big deal. Apparently after I left he started asking everyone for info on me. Still no big deal.
We worked the same shift the next day and I noticed him following me around. I didn't think much about it other than maybe a little crush. That night he followed me out to my car and asked me out. I just said I wasn't interested in dating anyone I worked with and that we all hang out together and he was more than welcome to join our group.
I thought things were kinda squashed there being I had given him the thanks, but no thanks.
Things just got worse. He constantly was following me at work and at first everyone thought it was funny about his "crush," but then he got scary. He would call my house and try to talk to my parents, follow me to my car, show up in places where I was outside of work like he was following me. Then finally had to fire him because they were worried about my safety being it was a movie theater and it was rather big and they were scared for an incident occurring.
After he was fired, I thought he would be gone. Not at all. Flowers, calls, letters to work and home. I lived in fear all the time. He seemed a little slow too, so I was worried that maybe there was something not mentally right with him.
I realized I was in a horrible situation when he showed up at my senior prom and took pictures from afar and a mutual friend went to his house and saw all these photos of me where I clearly had no idea the pictures were being taken. I had a temporary restraining order issued and just constantly had to have people with me at all times. The worse thing was, was that he seemed to change his "look" every few months so sometimes he would look different (hair long, short, beard, no beard) so sometimes he would just pop up
I last heard of/from him after my sophomore year of college. He thought I was staying in the area for a local college when really I had gone away. I have no idea where he is now, but so glad I was able to get away from him. I seriously lived in fear for a long time.
So that's my stalker story and let's hope we never hear/see him again!
Re: Stalker ?
That's awful. I've been there but my stalker was all through email/IM/phone and it turned out to be the crazy I was dating at the time. Long story short I was escorted around on campus by police for an entire year.
So, I've been there and it's awful. I found out some chick he married was on my local nestie board. I don't go there - I'm too afraid.
I totally get where you care coming from!

Wow, you guys have had some scary sh!t!
I've had two pseudo-stalkers. Failures, really.
1. A guy I dated when I was in law school (he was not in school with me, just lived in Brooklyn), after we broke up, tried to scare me through other people. We were online back then, before there was an Internet, using BBSes - discussion groups, chat, whatever. So he'd "met" a girl from my classes online, dropped my name as someone he knew, and fished for information from her. I had no idea they were in contact, and she didn't know me well and didn't know not to feed him info. Then he'd relay that same information to another known mutual friend of ours to make me think he was watching me and had info he shouldn't have. He also told our mutual friend that he'd been in my apartment building fixing someone's phone, and that we could have met in the elevator (he worked for Radio Shack back then). He had me looking over my shoulder for a while.
Funny thing? The girl he fished through found out later what was going on, found me at a law school party, and approached me to apologize. We ended up great friends after that, she stopped feeding him info, and she was one of my bridesmaids!
2. I've been a member of a few Irish-interest websites since 1998 (one of them is where I won the flight to Ireland for the honeymoon) and there was a guy on there I was "friends" with for a few years. He lives in Virginia and we've never met in person. He's rabidly conservative, and despite my liberalism liked me for being a lawyer, driving a Ford (Mustang), and being Jewish (he's very pro-Israel). Well, we had something of a falling out, I forget why, and he went psycho. He'd known my last name from private email exchanges, so he googled me and found my college's newspaper's website where I'd posted a comment to an article. He posted there, disparaging me and linking to a Myspace video from New Orleans where I was face painted as a monkey and acting the part. He found me a few other places online too, and tried to disparage me. But he never scared me, because I knew if I ever could find him and show up on his doorstep, he'd sh!t his pants. He was 100% keyboard courage.
