sewing ? covering a round pillow

i haven't sewed a cover for a pillow in what seems like forever and i want to cover a 10in round pillow form.  anyone know how what size i should cut my fabric?  any other tips for sewing in the round would be appreciated.

  • I have this book and it has that kind of info in it - I am using it to make seating cushions for our breakfast nook!  It's really a good investment if you do a lot of home decor projects, or ever a few sporadic ones.  It has tons of pictures which make it nice to look at.  It tells you how much extra to cut for seam allowances, gives you a cutting layout for your fabric, etc.

  • Round like a sphere?  Think of how a beach ball has different stripes.  That's how I'd cut my fabric.

    In that case, I'd measure how tall the side is, probably an inch if the picture was 12' diameter cushion.  Add the side measurement to your 10" diameter and cut out a circle with that size diameter.
