Is this done an embrodery machine?
I want to be able to do things like this and I am pretty sure it is done on an embroidery machine but want to know if I am right and how hard it is. If not how is it done? I can't imagine doing it with a zigzag stitch

What kind of machine does she have? Are these built-in designs?
Embroidery Library has a bunch of those designs.

She has a Brother, I don't know the model. I know that she's been buying tons of them from Bunnycup Embroidery.

How would you do this?
It's usually already completed upon purchase and you simply iron or sew it on.
ETA - you can usually find them at your local craft store down the isle you get tie dye, and other stuff you can use to decorate and make your own T-shirts.
How would I applique? Or embroider?
These are embroidered. These are applique.
I'm sure there are more out there, and more complicated applique designs but EmbLibrary is my go-to first. You can also applique without machine embroidery (sorry, yes, zigzag) but if you have a machine, why would you?
