DIY removal of shrubs, small landscape trees
DH & I are re-doing the landscaping in front of out house. We have a great plan we had done by a local horticulture student.
When it comes to rip out the current landscaping, what's the best way to do it? There are very deep roots and such. Is there something we can rent?
Tips/Suggestions appreciated!

Re: DIY removal of shrubs, small landscape trees
Roots aren't as deep as you think. You can either dig, or pull up bigs shrubs and small trees with your car or truck, by using a chain or towing strap.
Why are you ripping out everything? I'm just curious. Can't you just prune and relocate some stuff?
We ripped out bushes, hedges, and even a few trees using a logging chain and a truck:
Cleared almost an acre! (The whole thing is landscaped now, sorry no recent pics)
Also, these pics are with the first, smaller, chain we used. A neighbor lent us a logging chain (3/4 inch thick) and it was MUCH easier and waaaaay faster!!
