Baptism gift ideas for my nephew?
It's in 2 weeks and I'm drawing a blank. My husband suggested cash - which I guess makes sense, b/c the baby doesn't really need anything and his parents can put it away in a savings account for him.
Any thoughts? Maybe a pretty cross that matches his nursery? Maybe we can offer to buy the wine for luncheon after the church ceremony?
Thanks!
Re: Baptism gift ideas for my nephew?
Things we have received- (non- religious) cash, savings bonds, an engraved bank, an egnraved silver cup; (religious) cross, a pewter statue of his saint, a book of prayers, a kids version of the Bible, picture frames
Honestly I'd think the wine would be an odd gift. That's more for the parents than the kid. We got this cross for our daughter and I love it.

The site has some really nice ideas too. I've been very pleased with everything I've bought from them. You can usually google for coupon codes.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I'm probably a horrible person(oh yeah, I know I am), but I would prefer (and give)cash/savings bond. DS already has a substantial savings account set up from his baptism and other cash gifts he has received. I know it was a relief when I was in college and cashed in my savings bonds and paid for all my books/incidentals with that.
However, I do like the plate idea, thinking we'll have to purchase one for his birthday coming up. My sister(his godmother) gave DS money along with donating money to The Wildcat Sanctuary(a local organization that we are passionate about) to have a brick put up in honor of his baptism. It was something different and benefitted a cause that is near and dear to us. Whatever you do, stay FAR away from the Precious Moments figurines/crosses - there are plenty of classic cross options out there.
