Diagnose me Dr. Nest...

I suddenly developed clicking while talking about 3 weeks ago. I have no idea how it happened and it?s really annoying. It?s not noticeable by others but if it?s quiet and you are listening for it you may be able to hear it, DH heard it in the car once. It?s like I say a word and there?s a click in my ears, or jaw. Not sure. It doesn?t happen with every word or even every sentence but it?s there every day. I?m starting to get self conscious. Not sure if it?s going to get louder. L

I?m not sure if I need to see my dentist or an ENT. My jaw does not hurt so I?m not sure if it?s TMJ. I have however noticed that when I swallow it?s like I can hear my ears clearing and when I yawn. Or maybe this is normal and I just can?t remember.

Re: Diagnose me Dr. Nest...

  • It may be allergies affecting your sinuses.  My nose has been awful the past few weeks.  It started with horrible headaches.  I don't usually have a big problem with allergies, but this dry weather is really affecting me.  I need some humidity...please.

  • I think allergies might be a culprit.  Try taking some allergy/sinus meds for a few days and see if that helps.  If you're going to a dr, I would go with an ENT if you have pressure changes in your ears when swallowing.  Hope you get it figured out!

  • I agree with the previous people. I have had the clicking in my jaw when I would eat and it was from allergies. The allergies usually make it feel like fluid in my jaw too.
