visiting this coming week

My bf has training for work in Chicago this weekend and my daughter (almost 3) and I have decided to drive from Omaha to visit and stay with him as we are in a long distance relationship. We will be by ourselves during the day Monday and Tuesday so I am trying to figure things out for her and I to do....Please give us some ideas of things to do!

  • Is she into dolls??  If so, take her to the American Girl Doll Store on Chicago Ave. downtown.  It might cost you a little, but supposedly the girls can have lunch with their dolls and you can check out all the accessories for the dolls.  On the cheaper side, Lincoln Park Zoo is free (at least it was my whole life).  Can't go wrong with 3 year olds and zoos =)
  • Both great ideas. I think the American Doll store would be great since she will be 3 in 3 weeks! Thank you!

  • You can take her to Navy Pier or the children's museum too.

  • Yes! All of the above are great. Also, I'm fairly confident the Museum of Science and Industry happens to be free on those two days. The museum is AWESOME and really great for little kids. They have little chicks, and hands on science things - everything is centered around kids learning. But it's still interesting for adults. The Museum of Science and Industry and the Lincoln Park Zoo are my favorites for kids. Also, they are both free.
