PSA: Big Thank You

The Atlanta morning show that I listen to (still!) is doing a Big Thank You project. They want to collect 400,000+ thank you letters, one for each member of the US military. I think it's an amazing effort and plan to participate. DH is having some of his kids in his class write letters, I teach 5th grade CCD and we will be doing it as our service project....but I want to do more.

Do you think this is something that you ladies would participate in? Whether on an individual basis or as part of a group that you're a part of - anything would help! Maybe those of you who are teachers could get your classes to do it, or the school!

They haven't set a deadline yet, but the plan is to have the letters sent to the troops for Thanksgiving. Here is the link with more information on submission guidelines, etc....for anyone who wants to do this, I'd be happy to collect all the letters and send as a bundle. I will already be collecting and sending all the letters from my CCD classes so I can just include yours in the same package.

I teach 2nd grade CCD and our first day is tomorrow- I'll mention this to my co-teacher but I personally would love to do this with the class.

THAT is awesome, now i wish i was a teacher so i could do this with my non-existant class full of children.

Oooh If I get this job on tuesday I could speak to recreation and have all the old folks write some letters.

That's a great idea!! I'll at least have my skids and myself do it. I'll talk to my teacher about it and see if she'll let me have the 7 boys in my 2nd grade class do it.
