Re: Question of the day.

  • TGIF. seriously, it's been a long week.

I'm originally from Cincinnati.  So, DH and I are going there to visit my parents this weekend.  Dad is doing a duathlon race(bike/run) so watching him.

and we're going to a Reds game.  Oktoberfest is this weekend.  so definitely partaking in some good German food & beer.

  • I will be attempting to potty train my toddler.

  • We are in the final weeks of our house being built, so packing, errands, and checking on the house daily....not much else going on in our lives right now.

    haha good luck to you!

  • I have already broken out the booze. I am hoping things go smoother with DH home this weekend.

  • a volunteer project tomorrow morning, and then we are headed to my families cottage hear Warsaw for one last hooray with friends. Not swimming weather, but we can at least do a boatride and play cornhole :)

I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend!

  • DCulv, may I ask how long the duathalon is? DH and I are half marathoners, and have considered training for a sprint triathlon next summer. But even though we are fine swimmers...we would rather just run and bike!

It's dinner and a movie tonight.  Hopefully, we'll get some pool time in if the temps get warmer.  We're also thinking about going to the IU game this weekend.  We are also finalizing plans for our Nashville trip at the end of the month to do some serious Honky Tonkin', see a hockey game, and getting a table at our favorite supper club for dinner and dancing.
  • It's Johnny Appleseed time in Fort Wayne!

  • Dad was in an accident a few weeks ago that totaled his truck, so I'm going to Fishers tomorrow (technically today) to look at a 2000 Ford Ranger with him. Probably work on homework for the rest of the afternoon when we get back, do some dishes, and then at 7 I have to pick up a friend of mine to go to a coworker's "lesbian garden party". Can't say as I've ever been to one, and it's a long back story, but it should be interesting. I'll be one of the few straight people there. lol
  • We were at a French and Indian War reenactment all weekend. Koh-koh-mah and Foster Living Encampment  Link

the one he did this weekend is not your average duathlon.  http://www.badtothebonerace.com/  3.4 mi run, 25.3 mile bike, 3.4 mi run.  he said there were points he literally had to crawl, it was so steep.  and going down, had to kind of pinball off of trees so you don't fall. little intense, if you ask me.

but, he has done several sprint tri's.  but just like you, prefers biking and running!  so USAT has the duathlons in sprint & olympic distance as well. he has done the sprints. so sprint: 5K run, 20K bike, 5K run.
