A dude in our office has WAY too much cologne on today. And not a good smelling one either.

After weeks of discussions and making appointments for extra cleanings and carpet cleaners, my ILs told Bill that they are not coming next week since they would only be able to see Michael (my BIL) for about four hours. Yeah, it's not like they have another son who would like to see them either.
We play the arch rival tonight. Last night, our school got vandalized. Awesome.
How frustrating Julie. I find it sad that parents can be that way to kids (having favorites) but is common, unfortunately. Good news is that you have a super duper clean house now that you get to enjoy!
What did they do to your school? I only remember our school being vandalized once; the school across town chained our doors closed and wrote something in chocolate syrup on our sidewalks, which proved really difficult to get off. They weren't very smart though. They wore letter jackets and such with their last name on the back; the cameras caught it.
I don't get IL's sometimes.

I wish my body would just pick one and be done with it: get sick or don't. For the last few weeks, I always seem to get sick around Thursday night and deal with a sore throat and sounding like a man throughout Friday, body chills and aches and ear pain. It takes over my weekend only to become better Monday. Rinse and Repeat.
I just made our reservations for Sunday brunch at the Worthington.
Julie - when I was in school, the night before our big rival game, all the senior cheerleaders and dancers went up to school and vandalised it - yep, our own school. We did it in the name of pumping up school spirit. Granted, we did little stuff, but it was really a lot of fun. The only thing semi-permanent was a total accident... we made a flag and used orange shoe polish to stamp a paw print on it, and we made it in the parking lot... only, the shoe polish went through the cloth and stained the concrete! It lasted a pretty long time. Oops. We also shoe polished all the windows, and wrote the starting players' numbers on bras & panties and hung them in the trees
I definitely have my positive pants on today... it's the day after a deadline, so it should be super quiet, and I'm moving cubes today so I get to get organized before our next deadline, AND I get to leave at noon today! And it felt wonderful outside this morning on our walk, and I decided what DH and I are going to dress up as for Halloween. And and and, I'm just full of happy this morning
So that's where I got it. Or maybe that's where you got it. Who can say? :-) I just took leftover antibiotics from the last two sinus infections and it started clearing yesterday. I can hear again!

They vandalized a sign out in a garden in the front of the school. We used to have letters on the front facade that said "GRAPEVINE HIGH SCHOOL" and they would steal the first letter making it say "RAPEVINE HIGH SCHOOL". Pretty harmless. However, this was a very nice sign in a garden that we now have out front that was donated by the PTSA. I think it might be marble but I'm not sure. Anyways, there seems to be red paint and some shaving cream on it. Easy enough to fix, I'm sure.
I don't know who's the favorite but I do know Bill's feelings were hurt because they seemed to think it wasn't worth traveling out of state to just see one son. If we move to NC, I don't know how often they'd visit. FIL will only drive if he can get there within 8 hours so they'd have to fly. Minus 1. However, both sons would be within an hour or so of each other. Plus 1. I predict less visits than now (although we haven't been visited in almost a year now and I have seen them since their last trip here--going on a year!--, so I'm not sure how it could get much less) but, when they do come, it will be for longer.

I have my first test of the semester in 40 minutes and I truly hope I am ready!
I have so much to do in the next 36 hours. I think I have a running problem. Why, when I am do busy did I sign up for a race? It's an addiction.

Brianna - You scared me with this immune system/kid thing. I hope you feel better and Cadance gives you back some of your old immune system. Or maybe it'll be the new baby!!
It's a busy day, but some how I'm finding time to hang out on Pintrest! I'm already so busy in my free time, why do I ever think I'm going to be able to get any of the DIY stuff I see on there done?

I am anxious to know what DH has got me for my BD!!! I gave him a wish list and anything from that list would make me very happy, I just hope he sticks with it, I usually don't like any presents he get me!! We have been together for almost 11 years, 5 years of it married, and he doesn't know my taste!!! He always buys me cheap crap!
What race are you doing? A bunch of my CWs are doing the Ocktoberfest one.
I am getting a chair massage at lunch today. I soooooo need it.

What day is your b-day? Mine is this weekend, but I already know what H is getting me. His birthday was last week, and the minute he unwrapped the Kindle I got him, he went "but ... this is what I was getting you for your birthday!!!"
Now he's decided to get me the Color Nook instead. I'm excited about it!

I think we're going to try out the Addison Oktoberfest this weekend. Anyone been to it before?!?!?! Thought it might be a fun Sunday afternoon activity.
We still don't have internet at our house, so I've been spending a LOT of time at the library trying to get my work hours finished for the week.
same thing happened to us! DH got me a kindle for my birthday (right before Xmas) and I had already bought him the exact same thing. Great minds think alike!
Siavash and I love Oktoberfest ( and Tase of Addison and the like), but we are going to miss it this year as I can't drink, but it's fun. They have a carnival, food, music, and silly dancing in the big tent( after a few beers)...:) Make your get the big glass mug so you can get cheaper refills.

Hehe.. my husband can be bad with gifts sometimes too if I don't give him a list but then he surprises me sometimes with just because gifts that makes up for it ( like last year, I wanted a particular Tory Burch purse right before our wedding and he came home with a Tory Burch duffle bag, and I was like what I am going to do with this????? I wanted the purse, and he said I could use the duffle bag for our honeymoon. I tried to be nice about it but was pretty dissapointed... turns out he had bought the purse too and stuffed inside the big duffle bag.
So what's on your list of items that you want from your DH?

Coming from the Midwest, we make a pretty big deal out of Oktoberfest, so I'm glad to hear it's a good time!
One thing I forgot to mention, I think it's more fun to go on Friday evening or Saturday evening when the crowds are bigger as opposed to Sunday...

I agree with this! I actually have had this happen before, so I just thought it was cute. A guy I dated in HS and I ended up giving each other the same Enrique Iglesias CD, and that was a little weird. (We'd had one conversation about liking a song of his one time ... and somehow we both remembered it and used that as the basis for a "unique and quirky" gift. Too. Weird.)
To me, I rarely care what the gift is -- I just love to be surprised, and he knows it. Last year, he came to me at the last minute and admitted he hadn't been able to think of anything, and to just tell him what I wanted. So this past year, I made sure to make a point of perusing the James Avery catalog in front of him, talking a lot about really needing a mani/pedi, etc etc etc so he'd have lots of fallback ideas.

I'm super excited/nervous because I have an interview for a teaching position Monday! I've been working in the classroom as a compliance teacher and they're going to split the class up and hire a new teacher. So they'll be coming in to observe me teach Monday! I'll appreciate any T&Ps :-)!!!
