Ladies, I need your help!

We are moving back to the Des Moines area!!! We really thought that moving back to our hometown would be the best idea with a newborn and such, but really, it was a terrible decision - neither of us are happy, we aren't getting the support we thought we would, our savings are drained, there isn't career advancement, etc, etc.

I got a text today from my former co-worker who took over my position. He now took over our boss's position and wants me back in my old position. He wants me to start well, today, but I need to give notice here. H also has to have a job lined up before we move. And we need to find housing. And daycare.

If you ladies know of any job openings in the food industry or 2 bedroom apartments or homes with combined rent and utilities under $650 preferably with washer & dryer access would you please let me know?

Also, until we are able to do interviews for daycare, would any of you who SAH want to watch our adorable, happy 4 month old daughter? Or even better would any of you want to take her on as a full-time daycare child? Wink

Ok, I MUST get something done at work now. I received the first text about 11:30 this morning and have done nothing but text him and my husband since then.

Re: Ladies, I need your help!

  • Have you tried craigslist for housing?  I just looked under apts/housing and there appear to be lots of options around the DSM area in that price range.  Also, my favorite website for job searches is indeed.com.  HTHSmile

  • We have looked at Craigslist also. It scare me a bit because many times it's missing lots of contact information and other pertinent details.

    I'll have H check out indeed.com. Thanks!

  • I have only had experience with Craigslist for the landlord side of things, but I would encourage you to try looking there.  We just rented out our 3 yr old condo for around that price.  We have friends who are also renting out their first houses and many investors have rental properties right now with house prices and rates low.  When we advertised we didn't include our unit number, but if people replied to the ad then we would send them to our website with more pictures and info.
  • I have no great suggestions -- but wanted to say congratulations & good luck!  :)
