Looking for an entertainment center- ideas?

Hi! I am looking for a white or gray entertainment center. Our home is more modern/ contemporary. I do like the IKEA ones but am hesitant to purchase as I know the wood is not too sturdy. My husband and I got married 11 months ago and feel like our home still looks like as it did when we got married :(; I have anxiety about this all on its own. My price is around 1500. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Check out http://ana-white.com/ for ideas.

My husband is going to start building me one once it cools down more.

  • I loooove Ikea, and if you are willing to spend the money, their quality is pretty good. Of course if you buy an entertainment center for $100, it won't be awesome quality no matter where you buy it.  With a $1500 budget, you'll be able to get something awesome.

I don't have any other suggestions. I get all my furniture from Ikea. :)

Exactly this.  I buy almost all of my furniture from Ikea and it's really nice quality.  It really depends on what you spend.  Otherwise, you might some of the stuff at West Elm in Scottsdale.  It's Pottery Barn's more modern line.  I also love CB2 (Crate and Barrel's modern line), but there's not a store locally.

  • You can also try Razmataz.  I know several people who have gotten entertainment centers there.

  • We just got one from Ikea this last weekend.  This is the one we got.  The quality is really nice.  I definitely think it's quite sturdy.  You may want to give Ikea another shot.

Otherwise, I've heard good things about Macy's and JC Penney's furniture selection, as well as some pp's have mentioned.
