Can someone remind me how they ended the season... I can't really recall it.

They were at the funeral for Mongomery (who had turned out to be involved with the dirty cops back in the day, but who sort of died protecting Beckett), and Beckett got shot.  Castle told her her loved her, but we don't know if she heard him (I suppose, technically, we don't know if she lived)

I think the first episode is going to be ground work for the rest of the season.  I think the new captain is going to put restrictions on Castle or try to get rid of him.

I think Kate hears Castle but is going to pretend she didn't until she figures out what to do about Josh

I guess the new captain trying to get rid of Castle would make for good TV, BUT does she really want to go toe to toe with the Mayor? Cause isn't he the one who got Castle "assigned" to Beckett to begin with?

 Or she just ditches Josh and continues to be super awkward around Castle.

Ok thanks... here's what I read someplace yesterday....Beckett is rushed into surgery to save her life and they made it sound like the doc turns out to be Josh. Then she wakes up and is confused and doesn't know what to do.Josh saved her life but Castle loves her too.
