Yeast infections if he doesn't pull out?
I wanted to know if I'm the only women with this problem and I don't want to ask my friends. I can't have my husband *** in me without ending up with a yeast infection. I'm one of those unlucky people who gets yeast infections pretty often, no matter what I do, if I use hormonal BC or not, supper hygienic, etc. I always run to the shower right after sex and then use panty liners if he doesn't pull out but that mess still irritates my skin and leads to a yeast infection within a day or two. DH doesn't mind pulling out but I don't know what I will do if/when we want kids. Anyone else heard of this?

Yeast infections aren't caused by ejaculation or the contents of ejaculate.
It very well could be that he also needs to see a doc, too -- he may be carrying yeast, also, and he may also have to be medicated with antibiotics.
I beleve it's possible to pass yeast back and forth to each other.
Are you using a lube or some other liquid 'sex aid"? if you are, it could be predisposing you to yeast infections. Stop using it and see what happens.

Voiding after sex will help you to avoid a UTI, not a yeast infection of the vagina.
It is considered obscene because it's more or less a word associated with porno. Go figure.
Lots of words will get starred out, even if they are not being used in an obscene way. Parts of words will also.

IUDs were always associated with pelvic inflammatory disease.
That's another thought -- if you have an IUD, your infections may be related to it.
And see a doc; maybe it isn't a yeast infection but some other type of bacterial bugger. Your doc can find out for sure -- and your H also needs to see a doc and get treated. I still think you're passing something back and forth between each other.
This is probably a last case scenario -- but it is actually possible to be allergic to seminal fluid. Reactions can range from mild itching/irritation to flu-like symptoms. The other interesting thing about this particular allergy is that you can be allergic to just one person's stuff. I don't remember exactly, but I vaguely recall reading something that pointed to certain proteins in the spunk that caused bad reactions for women.
Anyway, I doubt it's that, but if nothing else seems to work after consulting your doctor (check out the BC angle first), an allergy might be the reason.

Holy panties in a bundle, batman! She wasnt being rude in the least. She is correct, you urinate after intercourse to prevent UTIs. I agree that you should see a doc to confirm that it is actually yeast. If it is, some things to prevent yeast infections that you can try include: not douching (though you already know that), if you can, dont use soap at all to clean down there, just water or a mild soap like dove. Dont use pantiliners as they just hold in moisture and especially avoid the Always brand as they are super irritating.
Your doc may have you take a weekly floconazole to make sure the infection is gone. I agree w/ tarpon that your H probably has yeast and you keep passing it back and forth to each other. Get him to a doc also. The pills work a million times better than any cream out there. Good luck!
I get yeast infections all of the time. It is a genetic thing. My mother got them every three months after her period and I was the lucky one out of four daughters that got that trait. I have been to the doctor several times to discuss this, and while I am not a doctor, this is what I was told and I still think you should see your doctor, but cleaning too much is actually not a good thing, your vagina is made to clean itself. Also, common yeast infections are linked to a symptom of Diabetes. If you are treating with an OTC medication you should use either the 3 day or 7 day treatment to make sure the infection is completely taken care of. Although as a PP stated the pill is much better and less messy.
However, I agree that your H should be checked out as well because for whatever reason you are associating the yeast infections with his ejaculate.

Ejaculate per se doesn't cause a yeast infection -- but it may be such that the ejaculate might be throwing off your vaginal pH even ever so slightly, disposing you to a yeast infection.
You might want to try a week of Diflucan. Sometimes it takes more than one or two pills to clear the infection. I had a fungal nipple infection while breast feeding because my baby had thrush and I was on Diflucan for 2 weeks. i never had another vaginal yeast infection after that.
You can also try acidophillus from a health food store. It is refrigerated. It was recommended to me by someone who does holistic medicine. You take it every day and it helps prevent yeast infections.
Also, if you are showering right after and trying to stay really clean, do not use soap around your vagina. It can create more irritation. Just use clear water.

If your on immunosuppressant drugs or your immune system isworking to fight something else(if you have crohns/lupus/other autoimmune conditions)your body may have trouble regulating the vaginal yeast because your immune system is suppressed and/or working to fight off something that it doesn't need to.
Also your husband could have a yeast infection(they often don't have any ill effects and often don't notice a yeast infection) and he's passing it along to you.
OR if you have an IUD of any sort especially the copper IUD yeast tends to stick to the IUD allowing a reoccurance of infections.
I found all of these out when I started getting them monthly. It first started when my immune system began attacking my digestive track, I got one yeast infection the yeast stuck to the IUD allowing for the reoccurance of them on top of being on several immunosuppressant drugs it lead to a very bad year. I finally got rid of the IUD which has helped majorly
Thanks everyone. I just got married and told my husband he didn't have to pull out for the honeymoon, which was stupid. I figured it was time to make a new account now that I've graduated from the knot to the nest.
I do have an IUD but I think I get less yeast infections now than when I've used BC (because of the extra hormones) or condoms (condoms irritated my skin). Other women in my family get them a lot also so I assumed it?s genetic. I've gotten used to jumping through hopes to avoid them because there isn't much I can do that doesn't cause it to happen. I've had the same problem with other men also. I'll try to talk DH into going to the doctor just in case he does have an issue.
