Looking for a dinner recommendation

DH and I are heading to Minneapolis this upcoming weekend for our anniversary and are looking for a place to get dinner, preferably a steakhouse.  We are staying about 3 blocks from the MOA, but will have a car and are willing to travel a little bit to get somewhere.  We are willing to spend up to $100 total (dinner, drinks, dessert).  Any suggestions?  TIA!

Re: Looking for a dinner recommendation

  • My favorite restaurant right now is Heidi's Minneapolis in Uptown but it is definitely not a steakhouse. If you want the classic steakhouse, I'd say you can't be Manny's downtown Minneapolis. I think for both places you'd get a get dinner around $100 but could easily (easily!) spend more.

Else, here are a few recommends that I love and where you can get excellent food for a great price.

    The Grand Cafe
    Haute Dish

    Also, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

    Ruth's Chris

    Manny's

    Murray's

  • Thanks for the recommendations, ladies! :)
  • If you want to stay down in the MOA area and not head downtown, Kincaid's is wonderful. It's just a few exits from MOA on 494 and easy to get to/park at, etc.

Also, there's a McCormick and Schmick's at the Westin Edina off of France Ave. Very close to MOA as well.

  • I second Kinkaids, McCormick's and add the Bloomington Chop House.  It is in the Hilton Hotel off Highway 494 and France Avenue - easy to get to from MOA as it's right off the highway.  It's one of my favorite places to get a filet mignon in the twin cities.

Otherwise, if you want some nightlife, go downtown Minneapolis.  Ruth's Chris is delish.  Manny's is also fantastic.  Manny's in a fun art deco building and the bar has sort of a cool modern vibe to it - provides for GREAT people watching and would be a fun place to wear a flirty outfit.

  • Twin Cities Grill in MOA is really good..they have steak and other options.  For steak, I'd recommend JAX.  It's old school so if you're looking for a fancy modern place this wouldn't be for you, but the food is GOOD!

  • We went out for our anniversary about 1 month ago downtown Mpls and we went to Mission American Kitchen.  We both got prime rib that I think was about $25/each - and it was really good!  Also, I believe they had 1/2 price bottles of wine on Saturday nights.
