Prenatal Massage?

Anyone get one or plan on getting one?

Thoughts?

My back is killing me and I'm so freaking uncomfortable, I'm wondering if this will help. I just want to be able to sleep for more than an hour at a time without waking up in pain.

Re: Prenatal Massage?

  • I kept saying I was going to get one...I still kind of want one, but I just can't seem to get around to it.

It seems like it would be amazing!

  • I had one, and it was amaaaaazing. Doooo eeeet.

Did you go to a place that advertised a special prenatal massage? Or just tell the person doing it that you were PG and they adjusted as necessary?

There's just not a ton of places here, and I have no clue what to look for.

The place I went to specifically did prenatal massage, and they had a special table with a place for your belly to sit, lol.

I'd just call around and see what's available! if you have to drive some, it may be worth it.

  • I had one at the red door spa and it was amazing. The way they did was they have a special table that elevates your feet and head so that you are not laying flat on your back. They cover you in warm blankets to relax your muscles, it was sooo nice. If you have a chance to get one I would do it.

  • I had one and it was just ok although it did cure my sciatic pain I was having. I wish the place I went had the tummy hole. I had to roll side to side and mess around with pillows etc. I felt like the hour was spent adjusting. But I'm sure my experience was bc of the place. Next time I'm gonna try a small place that only does massages vs a salon that just gets people in and out in a timely manner.
Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...

    Yes.

And as JA said, you def. want someone who is experienced and trained in prenatal massage... you should look for places that advertise it specifically so that you know that the therapist will know what their doing and not hurt you or the baby.
