The one who said that he hoped the boy didn't give me AIDS. I have 2 stories.
1) Neither of us work at that company anymore. When I started my new job last week I was waiting at the bus stop and he came up to it. He saw me but we didn't acknowledge me. He got on the first bus that came and I thought that hew as lucky he got there right on time. Well I get on my bus a few minutes later and who do I see waiting 2 stops down? Ex coworker. The same buses stop at every stop all the way up the street. It appears to me that he got on the first bus possible so he could get off at another stop and not have to wait awkwardly with me. I think I scare him.
2) We had a joint leaving night out on Friday for several of us who left the company within the month. This includes myself and ex coworker (we'll call him Dave, because that's his real name). I got to the bar and saw only him. We never acknowledged each other, but it was obvious we were the only ones there at that point so we both left for awhile to avoid needing to wait together.
Later on in the night when we were all there and liquored up, I hear Dave talking (and by talking, I mean shouting so everyone can hear his super important opinions). He is basically talking about how the blacks in South Africa should just be grateful that they were freed, but that he thinks they have too much of a sense of entitlement and they should just shut up about it. He also says that when Mandela was released there's no way he would be freedom fighter, and that he would be on the white side (I understand how the society worked and the customs and pressures to conform, but why bother announcing to people that you would prefer for the blacks to stay oppressed?)/
So another guy does not appreciate what he's saying, and tells him so very loudly, but then they make up. Guy who yelled and Dave points out to him that I was clearly interesting in the convo, Dave looks at me and says he needs to go out for a cigarette. He never returns.
Whatadouche.
Re: So remember my racist coworker?
What a douche!!! Such an ignorant point of view, many young white adults in SA do not have that point of view. Did he know that Mandela was groomed by the apartheid President at the time to become the first black president of SA? Because the govt new that Apartheid was killing the economy of SA and new that apartheid needed to be abolished.
Racism comes in so many forms, I am really shocked about how outspoken he is especially in the UK. But then again, a Scottish guy I knew had no problem saying the N word so maybe Douchebag Dave knows stupid people to hang with.
