So uh, what does a man wear to a weekday wedding?

Holy crap, I forgot about dh. What's appropriate for a man to wear to a weekday wedding at a semi-casual restaurant? Oh man, we're going to have to go shopping. I don't think the guy owns anything other than sneakers anymore, groan...

Edit: And what do I for a gift? They're not registered anywhere that I can find. What would you get?

My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

  • khakis and a button down shirt

He has those. That will work.

If he has one I'd add a sport coat to complete this outfit. If not, I'd throw on a tie.

ETA: Oh yeah, and cash for a gift.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Visa or Amex gift card so they can use it for whatever they want.

It's too hot in Fresno for a jacket still. Just do a tie. It's not a formal wedding anyway. Does he have dressier shoes? Sneakers would look funny (says the woman whose DH doesn't even wear shoes). For a gift I would just do a GC.
  • Dude, my husband doesn't even own a tie! He didn't wear one to his own wedding. I think for a casual restaurant the khakis and button down will be fine (recalling what some of these same friends wore to our wedding...). We are going shoe shopping, however.

LOL, he doesn't have a mother who buys them for him, I guess. That's the only reason mine has any. He has 3. And the only time he wears shoes is when he wears a suit. They don't really fit so they are PITA to keep from falling off. Sort of like keeping shoes on a baby. GL!!!

No, she buys him expensive sport coats that he doesn't wear in weird colors like brown. But hey, we just got back from shoe shopping and we have shoes. We're set. Whew.
