Tuesday Accountability

How are we doing ladies? I'm down .2 this week so I basically maintained. I'm finally back on track with grocery shopping and meal planning so I hope to start losing again this week. DH talked me into a workout yesterday despite feeling crappy and it actually felt really good. I'm hoping to get back on the workout wagon.

Re: Tuesday Accountability

  • I've been the same weight about the last two weeks which is fine because I haven't been actively trying to lose. We get back from mini vacation next Tuesday and I'll get back on the wagon.
  • I'm still not weighing myself, but I'm getting back into a more regularly scheduled workout routine between my running and the gym. My Dr also just confirmed yesterday that my BCPs (or at least that's what she's guessing is the culprit for the time being) are causing a significant hormone imbalance.

::HAPPY DANCE:: Happy dance only because they've finally confirmed that I'm not crazy & something really is off. This can be the cause for my insomnia, weakness, inability to lose weight, hot flashes, mood swings, & DH touching being about as appealing as an internal exam. lol He's obviously happy about this finding as well. I've been on the same pill for the last 8 years so we're going to try one w/different hormone levels. Hopefully I'll start feeling normal again soon.

I don't understand why doctors are so hesitant to think/say that BCPs will cause imbalances.  I had an old roommate who for years thought that she had bipolar disorder, only later to find out that she was hypersensitive to hormonal birth control.

I hope everything stabilizes for you and you can get back to feeling like yourself again!

  • No loss this week, but I didn't expect one. I have a lot going on for the next four weeks, so my goal is to maintain during this chaos.

  • I was down 3 pounds when I weighed last week. I've been slowly getting back to a workout routine and I've been making better food choices.

Thanks! She's giving me 2 months of a different BCP to try and then we'll reassess my levels. She said if that doesn't work we can try a supplement cream, but I think I'd rather try a non hormonal BC before I start taking medicine. I'd rather give my body a chance to fix itself.

  • All I did last week was pack, so half my kitchen stuff is in boxes and we did not have the healthiest possible meals due to that. Also, no workouts for me either unless I can convince myself to count packing and moving boxes as a workout. Definitely a slacker week for me, but hopefully when the move is over I'll get back on track.

I was having all of these same issues after being on some form of birth control for 9 years. I switched to a different pill and saw a small difference. Then i stopped taking it altogether due to an insurance issue and saw a HUGE difference. That is why I'm not on any BC now. At this point in time I don't think I'll ever go back on BC, that's how much of a difference I've see.

ETA: My doc, Dr. Brock didn't hesitate for a second to consider birth control as the culprit when I mentioned these issues. She was very supportive.

  • I weigh practically everyday and at the end of last week I was down 1.8, but now I'm back to where I was last Tuesday, so I maintained. Seeing that dip really helped me feel good though.

  • I still need to lose 20 pounds to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight after that I would like to lose another 20- 25 pounds. It have lost 2.5 pounds in the past 2 weeks. I get released to exercise in 2 weeks so hopefully the weight will come off quicker then.

  • I worked out last night (I don't care what anyone says.. Just Dance is a freaking workout) and am going to try to make it the start of a trend instead of a rare occurrance. lol. I happened to weigh myself this morning, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting considering my habits. lol. It was a nice surprise, and gave me the confidence that I can get back on track. I need to start running, so the challenge will be to do that without over-eating in response.

  • Im down 2 pants sizes. I think im going to start taking measurements, I've never done that and it might be interesting to see. I think that our new way of eating is starting to make a difference.

That is awesome! I like taking measurements. I feel like I can keep up with my results better with measurements, especially when I'm gaining muscle.

    I'm up 2 lbs :(
You worked hard last week to prep for your Disney trip. Don't be hard on yourself this week. It will fall off.
