Etching pie plate wording

Ok, I found clear glass pie plates at Alco the other day and plan to do them for the wedding presents I need to give in the next few weeks (along with two hanging handtowels and a cookbook). What do I etch on them? I'm thinking maybe just their monogram? Or just her name? Or something like "This pie was made by Megan Such-and-such"? Suggestions??? One wedding is Saturday...need help!

Re: Etching pie plate wording

  • I would either do a monogram or her name.  Or maybe the first letter of her new last name with a pretty flower/other small design.  Keep it simple.

  • I think a monogram would be perfect. :)  Then she will always be able to find her pie plate after a party or potlock. ................I should etch mine! LOL

That sounds cute! I'll see what I have in my Cricut carts!

  • Her first name + his first name and their wedding date.

I don't know that I'd do last names unless you're absolutely who is taking names.

    This. Yes  Very classy.

Or, how about the (last) name and Est. x-x-xx

I really like this, actually! Also, I know she is taking his name for sure, it came up in conversation (he owns a very successful welding business that she runs the office for, she said she can't wait to answer the phone using his last name, so people "know" who she is) though out here in rural Nebraska, it's pretty odd for the girl to not take the guys name. :) That would be super embarrassing though, if someone didn't know for sure!

  • The ones I have just have my last name on them and I love them.

  • I really like "Last name Est. 9/?/11" or you could use an image from their wedding invites. I got married on the beach on Cape Cod, so my moh gave us champagne flutes with a sea shell (and names and date) hand etched. That gift was tops!!!
