for the love of mike, please let it go.

its just an opinion about one person, not a blanket statement about all attorneys or all defense attorneys.

I have no issues with your statement about him.  I think he's a good guy, but that is my opinion.

I do take issue with the bolded portion of MB's reply.  It is not an opinion about one person.

Kjr, I apologize for offending you.  It's not an original sentiment or one that I thought would surprise anyone, but if by explicitly stating it I offended you, I do apologize.

My comment was actually intended to stick up for Melissa because I didn't think multiple posts were necessary to combat her comment that he is a sleeze (which I gather, because it would be the eleventy billionth time I've heard people say that about him specifically, is because of who he is in repeatedly in the news about representing [disclaimer - I don't know for a fact that is where Melissa was coming from but it could have been and I don't think it's illogical]).  That is what was happening.  I like Melissa and could see where she (or dozens of other people who share the same sentiment about him) was coming from so I stood up for her.  It wasn't intended to be a slam against all criminal defense attorneys in the whole wide world.

It's not a surprising sentiment, but it is an offensive one.  I have no problem with anyone disliking a defense attorney.  I dislike a lot of people. I was not offended at all by Melissa's comment.  But to say that one's reputation is lowered by the client's they represent is not fair or true.  (And, yes, I realize the horse is dead... yet I continue to beat it)

I am very dedicated to my job.  Some of my clients are awesome people.  Some are scumbags.  But I fight equally as hard for all of them because that is my job and everyone deserves a fair shake.  I don't think it makes me a bad person.

I have no reason to think you are a bad person; quite the contrary. If I didn't respect you I wouldn't bother apologizing - I wouldn't care whether I offended you or not. I hope you'll accept it.
