Re: Tattoos

  • Yes - I have one on my right shoulderblade of a music note with a heart around it. It's very small, like the size of a nickel. And then I have a cluster of stars on my left hip.

Yes - I want a butterfly tattoo with Ellie's initials and birthdate incorporated. I just haven't found the right design yet.

Yes - He has one, a large tribal phoenix design on his left arm.

  • Yes - on my left shoulder blade, a scorpion for my zodiac

Yes - I do want to get another one, but I'm not sure what and where. For a while I wanted a moogle on my upper arm, but now I'm kind of glad I didn't

No - He wants to get a Phoenix on his arm/shoulder though

  • Neither one of us have tattoos and we like it that way:)

There were times when we were younger that we both wanted one, but we're glad we didn't end up doing it.

  • Yes -- I have 2, the Celtic Tree of Life on the lumbar area of my spine (read: Tramp Stamp) and I have the Taurus symbol on the inside of my right ankle

Yes -- I have a list.  I want to add to the Tree of Life on my back with the Celtic Love, Marriage, and Motherhood knots.  I also want a LOST tattoo, either the Dharma logo or the Numbers (I don't know where I want those).  I've also thought about a tattoo for Sam, probably an Aster incorporating her name and DOB, prolly on my shoulderblade.  And I want a pentagram that incorporates the 5 elements somewhere...

No -- Chris doesn't have any yet, but he wants one... he just hasn't found anything he loves yet.

ETA:  Chris actually got me a gift certificate towards my next tattoo as a wedding present, but by the time I got around to using it, I was pregnant... 2 years later, its still good, and I'm itching for a new one!

  • Neither of us have any, but I want one.

I haven't found something I can stick with forever yet, so when I figure it out I'll do it.

  • I dont have any. I never felt like I *liked* anything enough to get it on my body forever.

Recently I've been kicking around the idea of getting this placement (pun intended) but have it say, "Nothing in life is permanent, including our troubles."

    Foot tattoo

Andy has a tattoo of the Browning symbol on his left bicep (deer silhouette only, no words).

  • Do you have any? If so- how many, where, and of what? Not yet- Mark hates them and I can see why, but I really want to get a pair of wings on my foot with my mom's initials in it. My sister is a runner and wanted wings as well so if she does it we might do it together.

Do you want any? If so- where and of what? see above.

Does your DH have any? If so- how many, where, and of what? nope.. he is not the type.

  • Do you have any? If so- how many, where, and of what?

No. I used to want a retro-style blue bird on my hip with the word 'serendipity' beneath it. But stabbing and staining myself with a needle never seemed worth it when I finally had the money for it. Probably because I am deathly afraid of needles.

Do you want any? If so- where and of what?

    Not anymore.

Does your DH have any? If so- how many, where, and of what?

No, but he wants one eventually.

  • Do you have any? If so- how many, where, and of what? Nope. I hate tattoos. HATE them. It makes me completely crazy to even have a bruise/pen mark/scratch on my skin, let alone something that is on me forever!

Do you want any? If so- where and of what? neva eva eva

Does your DH have any? If so- how many, where, and of what? None. He toyed around w/ the idea of getting his irish family crest somewhere, but I talked him out of it b/c of the above mentioned hatred of them.

  • Neither DH or I have any.

I've always wanted one, but I'm too indecisive to get something so permanent.

*sniff* but do you still love me even though I have them?

  • 1. No I don't have any.

    2.

    3. Jay has 4 tattoos: 1) a tribal butterfly on his right bicep (my name means butterfly in Greek); 2) the Chicago Bears "C" with claw marks behind it; 3) 2 crossed arrows on the left side of his chest (an Indian 'symbol for friendship; I just call it his heterosexual life partner tattoo since he and one of his best friends got the same tattoo at the same time); 4) an almost tribal Jesus with the crown of thorns on his chest also, it's hard to describe.

  • Yes - I have the Kanji symbols for "Reach for the Stars" on my lower back and underneath it, in English, it says, "Someday, Somehow."

Yes - I want another one. It's going to be my grandma's (whom I call "Nona," which is Italian for Grandma) signature. It'll be located on my left side. I won't be doing it anytime soon, but it is something that will be done. I've already told DH about it and he thinks it'll be a great tribute to her.

No - DH is afraid of needles and doesn't have anything that he'd like inked on him for the rest of his life.

  • Do you have any? If so- how many, where, and of what? No, I don't have any.Do you want any? If so- where and of what? Every so often I think about it, but I can't come up with anything I want to commit to my body for the rest of my life.Does your DH have any? If so- how many, where, and of what? He has three. He has a dragon on his right deltoid, a tribal band around his left bicep, and a barcode across his left wrist. He took a barcode from a package of Tyson chicken ('cos, well, he's Tyson) and had it tattooed. It won't scan at a register, though -- we've checked. ;-) He wants another one but I don't know if he'll really do it, since he's said the same thing for the last 7 years.

  • None for me and none for Danny.

We'd both like to have at least one, but neither of us can think of anything we'd want to commit to for the rest of our lives.

As to placement, I'd like mine to be on my shoulder blade. Danny wants one either on his arm or his back.

    Yaaaaaaay!

  • Yes we both do.

I have asmall shamrock on my lower back, its about the size of a quarter and Billy has both of his legs covered. On one he has a bunch of stuff going on, he was in a motorcycle accident and his leg was badly injured and required a ton of surgery so it was covered in scares so he had them covered up and on his other leg he had to have a steel rod inserted to hold his foot onto his ankle from the accident so he has a tattoo that looks like the skin is pulling open and inside is a machine.

Then he has two on his back one on each shoulder blade.

When ppl meet him they can't believe he has so many bc he works in the city for a hedge fund and wears a suit to work everyday. They say he looks to studious for tattoos.

  • Do you have any? If so- how many, where, and of what? I have 13 (technically) I'm working on a half sleeve which includes a swallow, 'Little Bit' (family nickname) and sheet music (notes) from the chorus of our wedding song on my left forearm. Right forearm - has another swallow. Chest - two stars with red (for Mom), orange (for H) and pink for me with leopard print over the colors. Left shoulder - 5 stars, one for me and each of my siblings. Right shoulder - cresent moon with star clouds (bad choice, a friend has a matching one), Neck - 1/8 note with 3 stars (me, real sister & real brother). Right leg - sun with moon that I drew myself, Left leg- Amy Brown's Litte Red Mischief with my biodad's initials. Left foot, hisbicus flower for my Grandmother, Right foot - the words 'Live, Laugh, Love'.

Do you want any? If so- where and of what? I want to complete my left forearm with a poem to represent Hunter :)

Does your DH have any? If so- how many, where, and of what? He has one. I was 17 when we met, and we always said we'd get our first ones together. Well I got my 10th & 11th the day he got his first. He has an engine piston with a checkered flag and american flag crossed with the chevy emblem in the background on his right arm.

  • Do you have any? No.

Do you want any? If so- where and of what? I'm toying with the idea. I use to want 3.  I wanted this on my left ankle:

    image

I wanted a Shamrock with the Swedish flag inside of it on my right ankle. Similar to this with the Irish flag:

    image

Then I wanted a moon with a star design on my right hip with 5 stars to signify 5 people I've lost that I was extremely close to.

Since then - I've ruled out the Red Sox tat and the moon and stars tat....I'd still like to some sort of tatoo for my grandfather though.

Does your DH have any? If so- how many, where, and of what? Not yet. He'd like to have his back done with the Celtics Champion Banners and the Red Auerbach silouette on his right shoulder blade:

    image

And Red's signature on his left shoulder blade.

  • Again, late...but....

I have 3. I have a tree branch with cherry blossoms on my left wrist, with the word Promise. It represents God's promise in Romans 8:1. I have a purple and yellow orchid on the back of my neck (my first) in memory of my best friend that passed away in between freshman and sophomore years of high school. And, the most recent is GIANT (covers my whole back, and was much larger than I anticipated)...and it is my birth flower (a purple cosmos) and my sister's birth flower (yellow daffodil) attached at the stems, and a quote that says "She is my sister, one half of me."

We always get comments when we aren't together that people are sorry for our loss. Ha.

I absolutely want more. I currently have 2 picked out that I want (for now). The first (which is technicaly two) is shackle and chain on each of my ankles. And "engraved" on the shackles, the verse Romans 6:18 "So now you are free from sin, and are slaves to righteous living" I'm thinking the word on my right ankle, and the reference on my left. The second, is a lightening bolt with the word ZAP. It's an inside joke between my husband and I, and he will be getting a matching one. I believe we've decided on getting it on the top of our feet (the left).

Josh has one, it's Mark 12:30 in Hebrew (red and black lettering) on his left forearm. He wants the matching one I talked about above, and he wants a templar angel on his right calf.
