license plate question

I am due to get new plates this month, and I've decided that I am going to let the vanity plate go. (basically because I hate the new plate style and don't want to pay extra for a different plate on top of the vanity charge) Do I need to let the DMV know? It's probably too late for that since my month is September, though. Can I just tell them I want a regular one when I go in?

Re: license plate question

  • I would assume they already pre-printed???  I would call and ask.  And good move on getting rid of the vanity plate... what does yours say?  Most of the time people have to decode them.  :)
  • Mine says U2SLOW. Actually, one of the real reasons I am dropping it is because we live in an apt complex now, and it's sort of a "taunting" plate, and I don't want anyone to break into it, or vandalize it because they don't like the plate. One downside though, is that there are 3 other silver GPs in my bldg, and this makes it easy to tell them apart. :)

  • I called, and if anyone cares, you can just tell them that you don't want the vanity plate anymore and they give you a regular one. The printing is automatic.
