Hello...
Hi there...I'm definitely not new to SoFL (been living here about 5 years after relocating from OH), but I'm new to The Nest, so I thought I'd drop in and introduce myself...
I'm Oceana...28yrs old, Ph.D. student in marine biology, working an office job to pay the tuition, with some photography gigs on the side. My DH (or ScubaSteve, as he was nicknamed on TK) is 35yrs old and work in telecom and scuba instruction. We just got married in April after nearly three years together. We've got no babies of the human variety yet...once I finish my degree, we hope that changes. For now, we've got a hilariously neurotic Border Collie/Pit mix named Sandy...we're hoping to find her a friend sometime next year.
I'm happy to provide any recs for those new to the area, and I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all in the future. This board looks really quiet, but perhaps we can get it jumping soon

I am new to the nest and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Meghan, I'm 26, and my husband (28) and I are relocating from IN to Miami in Feb. Any suggestions on nice, safe areas to purchase a home or even rent for a bit until we get to know the area better?
We don't have any human children yet either, but we're hoping here in the near future that changes:). We do have two dogs, Gizzy and Ellie, who are our only children as of yet.

Have you and DH decided which area of Miami you're moving to?
We don't have human children yet either :-) Love Zumba! We are looking at Miami Beach, Brickell, Coral Gables, The Grove..just don't know. We will be house hunting in May or June. Might do a condo or SFH. Have you been to Miami? Have any recommendations? Look forward to chatting with you as we both move.
