do you DIY a lot of things for your parties?
I have a million ideas and things bookmarked and pinned....but not a whole lot of time!
i want to make a birthday pumpkin garland, tissue poms, bake and decorate sugar cookies among a few other desserts and appetizers, make favors....
can't decide what to DIY, what to buy, and what to forget about.

I love to look at fully blown out parties and they seem like such a great idea. However the only things I get to do are the food stuff. Everything else ends up not being a priority. I do buy themed paper products and such. I also make the cake.
I will say I did go overboard one year and bought a ton of scooby themed party things for DS B-day! It was not his first Bday maybe his third so it was like the first time he really got it. We had two large blow up scooby plug in balloons. If anyone wants them I still have them. I think that year he also had his first friend party and I did go all out with the party products. Hats, Favors, cake, plates etc.... It was pirates for the friends and scooby for the family.
Just do what you want most in your pictures then the rest is not necessary.
Well then I guess you have a lot of DIY to do
Before Drew's first bday, I always made all my food. I still will for parties that dont consist of so much other stuff. So for his birthday, I ordered a custom printable party package on Esty, had it printed at Staples (bc my inkjet couldnt keep up with all the red ink), I assembled several pennant banners, other banners, food cards, drink cards, custom cup stickers, water bottle labels, made utensil wraps with a custom sticker, table decorations, other various decor throughout the house, ordered balloons, made a birthday hat, made favor tags and made the chocolate drizzled kettle corn.
But I had all the food catered and ordered a custom cake. It worked out perfectly and am going to go that route for birthday parties. Other parties at home, ill still cook.

It was SO easy. I did it the night before. Popped some kettle corn and melted some semi-sweet chocolate chips (I made a rigged double burner with a sauce pan and metal mixing bowl). I spread the corn flat on cookie sheets (and tin foil when I ran out of cookie sheets) and used a spoon to drizzle the melted chocolate. Let dry for an hour or so and then packaged in clear bags I picked up at Michaels.
It was SO yummy.
