Las Vegas on a budget- things to do
Any suggestions at places to eat, or do near the strip?
I would also like to see some shows at a discounted price if possible. any discount tix besides vegas.com?
thanks for the advice..
Re: Las Vegas on a budget- things to do
Pretty much any restaurant on the strip is going to be more expensive than other areas. Diabo Cantina at Monte Carlo, Le Burger Brasserie at Paris, America at NY NY are all fairly inexpensive in comparison.
There's a lot to see on the strip that doesn't cost anything: Fountains and Conservatory at the Bellagio, Wildlife sanctuary at Flamingo, Lion habitat at MGM Grand, Sirens at TI, M&M world across from Monte Carlo. There are also free trams between Mandalay Bay and Excalibur as well as Monte Carlo and Bellagio if you want to see more hotels without doing all the walking. Here's a full list:

For shows, I would try

There are several locations on the strip
We are going in November!
THose are great links and tips!
Thank you!
I think it's trip advisor that has a whole section on free/cheap things to do & see in Vegas. Fodor's book on Vegas has the same thing. Hit up the library or B&N for the most recent copy.
tix4less.com also had discounts on dinner.
If you do want to try some of the better restaurants, go for lunch. Usually similar menu/quality but cheaper (not always though).
Wander the shops in the grand canal, see the fre circus performers at Circus Circus, gawk at the tacky performers, etc.
We viist vegas for family so don't stay on the strip and you can read about them here but my recommendations are:
1. Walk up and down the strip, it's free and a great way to see the different casinos
2. See the fountains outside the Bellagio
3. If you have a car Valley of Fire or Red Rock for the great outdoors
4. The conservatory (?) also in the Belagio
Ditto what everyone said, plus
- catch a free show screening at CBS Television City inside MGM Grand;
- if you are willing to leave the Strip, stroll down Fremont Street at night;
- find plenty more here: http://www.vegas4locals.com/free.html
Have a blast!
