Good areas in Greenville

We may be moving to the Greenville area, I'm trying to test out the housing market, but I can't figure out what areas to avoid. Any tips?  I want to feel safe because my dh works a lot.  Thanks!

Re: Good areas in Greenville

  • We moved to Greenville a month ago and are closing on a house on Wednesday.  We based our search on the top graded schools.  I believe this is the link we used to look up the ratings of the schools.  http://www.schooldigger.com/go/SC/district/02310/search.aspx

  • Generally the east side is a good area.....but the most expensive.  Consider Easley/Powdersville too as they are close to Gville but probably cheaper.  I live in Simpsonville close to Fairview Road and we love it down here.....

  • We live on the east side and love it here.  The neighborhoods are great and so are the schools, and you are close to Woodruff Road, the mall, and downtown.  We want to move to a bigger house in a few years, but we really like this area.  Augusta Road is nice but you can find nice houses next to not so nice ones, so it seems inconsistent to me.  Greer is nice as well, just make sure it's the part of Greer zoned for Riverside High.
