I'm down 40 lbs from my pre Audrey weight and am now back at the weight I was when I started dating DH. Only 15 lbs to go and I will no longer be "overweight". Go me!

Before anyone thinks I'm a nut I'll explain this quick. My DH can't eat gluten so we keep the house 100% GF except for some cheerios for Audrey. Audrey is allergic to dairy and soy, which means she can't eat anything with either in it and neither can I because I still BF her and my DH is lactose intolerant and can't eat dairy. Jake does get some foods with gluten and dairy in them when he is at school, but we did some allergy testing on him recently and he had a reaction to barley, so he needs to be mostly GF for that reason. I always like to explain that so I don't get accused of doing some crazy diet thinking it will cure autism!
My DH is a vegetarian, but he is cool with fish/seafood so we eat salmon and shrimp in dishes that seem to need meat. We eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and when we do eat pasta we eat rice pasta. We're still guilty of eating potato chips or other junk foods sometimes, but we really try not to. Being GFCF doesn't equal healthy, there are still tons of bad high carb, fatty things you can eat. All the label reading can be daunting, but you get used to it and it just becomes "normal". Eating out or eating fast food is nearly impossible for us, so we don't. I think that may be the biggest factor in my weight loss! We eat a lot of things everyone else eats, we just make them a little differently.
That is awesome. My mom was totally GF (she has a mild wheat allergy) for a while and said she lost 10lb because she quit eating delivery pizza.
I didnt mean it to sound that way, and I would not go into doing GFCF to try and cure autism either, Ive just been wondering about some of Monks issues with food and wondering if GFCF might help. We do have some GI issues I think, mild ones, and its on my list of things to talk to the doctor about in a few months.
Likewise I figured it didnt equal eating only healthy, but I was just thinking of all the things I knew that have gluten or casein in them and oh holy moly how crazy it would be to have to read all those labels. But it does probably have a big impact on your diet.

If you do decide to do some GFCF stuff I'll be happy to help you with anything I can
