Resume

This never ceases to amaze me.  I am going through a stack of about 200 resumes right now to hire about 15 people.  So many people have spelling mistakes on their resume - and these people have either a master's or doctoral degree!  When I see a spelling mistake I automatically just pitch the resume.  Lesson - always proofread when sending a resume!

Re: Resume

  • You're tough! Wink I will usually let one spelling error slide unless it's a super short resume.
  • LOL - I am sifting through 200 resumes and I strongly feel that a resume is the ONE place where spelling and grammar are paramount.

I agree.  I see resumes as a reflection of yourself and it's definitely the first impression, so it should be perfect.  Spelling errors don't show personality.
