Counselor Rec?

I have a friend that is basically in crisis mode right now with her husband and is desperate to start seeing a counselor, together and individually. She is calling around and having a hard time either thinking someone's approach sounds good, getting them to call her back or them having an opening. Does anyone have a rec in the Sacramento area?

I don't know of a counselor in the Sacramento area. But, I'd highly recommend they check out this program called Retrouvaille. They offer program sessions all over the place. It's a really solid program that's designed to help couples who are in severe crisis mode (including ones where the couple has already decided to divorce), and has a really high success rate in saving and repairing marriages. They do not need to be Catholic (or religious) to attend; that's not the point of the program, even though it's offered through the Catholic church. Also, if they can't afford much, the program makes it easy for them to only pay what they can afford (without shame or pressure), even if that's nothing. http://www.retrouvaille.org/
