To-Do Lists

I have this running to do list, like send a birthday card, buy spring flower bulbs, etc.  When I get home, I just don't feel like doing it.  I much rather waste time on the internet, read, play with my puppy, etc.  They are not super important things to do, but I love the feeling of checking things off, and I just haven't found the motivation to do it.

Re: To-Do Lists

  • I'm a total list-checker-offer person, but I make mental lists.

It's part of my OCD I think.

Every day when I wake up I have a list in mind... even for stupid little things at work.

I used to feel bad (well not really bad, but just like let down I guess) if I didn't get everything I envisioned done.

But now, with a baby especially, I'm learning to get go some.

  • I'm a list-maker, too, but I definitely have periods of "eh" about it. Like sometimes, I don't care how messy my living room is, I'm just going to sit in the middle of it, surrounded by dirty dishes, and watch tv, because I just want to, darn it. Sometimes, I actually get stubborn with myself and won't do the items on my list just because you (me) can't make me. It's one of the privileges of being an adult.
  • I'm not so much a to-do list person as I am a calendar person. I have a monthly calendar that is my life - I've tried using a calendar on the computer or my phone but it isn't the same, in need to write things down and see everything layed out in front of me.

I write all kinds of notes on it, etc. . . . but I agree there are times where I'm like, "dope, forgot to send so and so a birthday card, oh well" because I was too busy enjoying my "real life". :)
