Has anyone successfully gotten rid of StinkHorns?
We just bought our first house about three weeks ago and on Sunday, I went out to the yard and lo and behold, we had stinkhorns growing (the orange kind, I think they're called Dog Stinkhorns). I'm out there EVERY morning pulling them out AND their little white egg sack. For the record, we're in Zone 5 and the area is mulched (which may be the problem?) and has two medium sized trees and some grasses in the area too. It's about 12'x5'. Has anyone successfully gotten rid of these before? I'm searching the internet and a lot of these biologists are telling me I should feel "lucky" to have them. HA!
Thanks!
Re: Has anyone successfully gotten rid of StinkHorns?
Yes, we have. Pulling them up is not sufficient. You'll need to dig up the soil/mulch and dispose of it. (Ours kept growing in a 10" spot, so we dug up a 4' sq.) Once you have all the soil removed, douse the area with straight bleach. Replace with new mulch.
