Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

IPAD Question....

I?m having problems with my IPAD.  When I plug the docking station into the computer to charge the pad, sync, etc, it won?t charge.  It will sync and do all that other crap.  I don?t have that problem with my Iphone.

 

I?ve swapped, plugs, ports, anything I can think of to no avail.  Is that normal for an IPAD? 

 

I?m trying to download some videos on the Pad, and it?s taking forever, and I don?t have any juice.  So I?m kind of flipping back and forth.  I was hoping to have a fully charged and downloaded IPad for my plane ride tomorrow to see DH (I?m meeting him there for the weekend?he?s on his way back from Afghanistan).  Was hoping I?d be watching a movie?.

Re: IPAD Question....

  • You may not have a high enough power USB port on your computer or you may be using a 3rd party accessory that doesn't charge it (not sure what you mean by dock, Apple only gives you a cable with it).

    Plug it into a power outlet and it will charge. If your computer has a high power USB port, it will charge but MUCH slower. I always plug mine into an outlet.

  • Give apple a call and see if they can troubleshoot anything.  If not, make an appointment at a store genius bar (either before your flight or once you get there).  They've been REALLY helpful for me in the past!
  • I've decided it's my crappy internet provider (ATT).  I'm doing back to Astound, and give it a whirl.  If it still sucks, I'm heading to the genius bar.  Thanks Ladies!

    Your internet provider should have nothing to do with your iPad not charging....
