I figured I would start a fresh post.
Brian and I had the day off yesterday and shipped the kids to daycare. I felt like we looked at a ton, but in reality we barely saw anything. We tried to hit up the exbhition centers before they got too busy.
I liked some of the pieces at the Art Musuem. I was joking with Brian that there is no way we can bring the girls there. There is a rug made out of seeds and spices, but it has those 4th of July "poppers" (that you throw down or step on) on the fringe of the rug. If the girls saw those poppers, they would be stepping on them in a matter of seconds.
I liked the girl with the beach ball in DeVos Place. I know, I know...it's not serious art, but it looks so relaxing, you can just imagine yourself floating in a lake.
There is a series of pictures there about Sudan and there was one that made me stop in my tracks. It was a little boy with a tear down his cheeks. That really really hit a nerve with me.
As a parent it kills you when your child is hurt or sick and you can't do anything about it.
We went to the Waters building and they had their items in an empty suite of offices. It was strange...I told Brian it was kind of depressing walking around all these empty offices because you couldn't help but wonder if some company went out of business. In reality, they should have just moved offices. Also, the Waters Building didn't prep the space like they should of. The place looked kind of dingy. One of the offices had a big hole in the wall. Luckily there wasn't a piece of work in there but the door was wide open and the lights were on.
