I am working on the east coast so I don't have to deal with the dust!!!
So, this is all that I know for now: We received our cabinet rendering on Friday and we made a ton of changes. It is almost as if the guy wasn't listening to us AT ALL - which is what I was scared of. We met with our contractor Monday night to look over it with him and he was also really p!ssed. DH met with cabinet guy again last night and it was obvious he was totally confused. Anyway, we are supposed to get the new rendering Monday although they are pushing for today.
We finally got our countertops figured out so I am pretty excited about that because that was stressful (which is stupid but it was!).
Yesterday they dug the trench to get electric and plumbing to our island (this was apparently extremely dusty and I am glad I avoided it!). The electrician will be there all day today and tomorrow getting it worked out. Plumber on Monday and Tuesday. Our windows have come in so they should be installed next week and they are also cutting the hole through the room for the ventiliation system.
Cabinets the next week.......then floors, countertop, and backsplash and that's it!
So far, things are going really, really well. I am very concerned about the cabinets - they were also $2k over budget. Our subcontractor really pushed for us to use this guy even though another company has done all the cabinetry in the rest of the house and I can tell our subcontractor is pretty upset about it but it is too late now, I guess!
Thanks for asking - I can't wait to cook in her! I am ridiculous excited to see the finished product!
