How did you celebrate the first day of fall?

As of today it is officially fall. And it feels like it, 50? and rainy all day. It also got dark at like 6:30. DH and I got groceries, mailed a package and went to a garden store, I bought a bunch of tulip and daffodil bulbs to plant when the ground is dryer. I read all day in my pjs, went through like, 4 or 5 cups of tea and made a frozen chicken and pasta thingy for dinner (too lazy to really cook),

Aaaand, this is how I will probably spend every saturday and day off work for the next four months.

  • I doesn't feel like fall here today, its 81 and sunny. I've be making sauce and pesto and freezing grean bean, chard and other goodies from the garden. Yesterday me and DH went fishing. I limited (with 5 trout Party!!! ) and DH caught 3. And we froze those too. Our freezer looks ready for the winter ahead.

Today me and DH are doing "fall" cleaning. The house was in need of some TLC before I go back to school on Monday. Tomorrow we need to get out in the yard and do the final mow and tide up before the rain starts for the next 9 months.

  • We got up and out and went and looked at houses with our realtors.  We actually found one that we are interested in getting more information on.  After that we went and got some bagels (YUMMY!!).  DH had to be to work at 1:30, when he left for work I took a 30 minute cat nap before I had to walk out the door to babysit.  After babysitting I came home and started laundry... ordered pizza to pick up later tonight... and here I am.  Ok first day of fall for me!

  • First day of fall was celebrated by getting up early to trudge to school in the rain, followed by a job interview, followed by deep cleaning my carpet.  Wheee!

I want to go to our local orchard this weekend to get some goodies.  Then it may begin to feel like fall!

  • Hmmm it was 80 degrees here today...haha

But, on this first day of fall, I cleaned my house, and did the laundry including the bedding.  Yay clean sheets!  Dropped off some paperwork related to my choreography gig, and got a wax...(haha sorry if TMI!) and wrote some cards to be mailed: Two thank you notes, and a get well soon card.

I got groceries and then DH came home early, so we enjoyed lunch in the garden, then went for a walk on the levy by the Bay.  We went out for dinner (had pho) and have just returned to our cuddly kittens!

Looking forward to reading tonight, and maybe I'll make cookies at midnight if I'm still up.  Midnight made cookies taste the best sometimes :-)

  • It was a nice fall day here. I skipped the gym in favor of sleep this morning (plus I'm sick, so...) had the most boring day at work, came home, walked the dog, ran a quick errand with DH, and we've spent the evening watching Torchwood (me) and playing video games (him). Basically, just any other night. :)
  • Hm... I worked.  My students were not impressed at the onset of Fall, so I didn't talk about it much.  Then after work, I came home and ate a caramel apple.  Yum!
  • I worked - 'Friday with FRIENDS' in my classes yesterday - I love being able to bring in my favourite shows and relate them to the curriculum! YAE!

After work I had an anti-aging facial done by my friend and estitician (sp?) and then a quick dinner with DH when he got home from work before heading out to a Girl's Night Bon Fire at my friend's house with a few lovely ladies! It started to rain, so the bon fire turned into a good gossip and catch-up session in the living room with many wonderful yummy treats! A great way to spend the first day of fall!

Today...it's overcast and cool, so it's a perfect day for some fall batch cooking and baking...apple crisp, apple sauce, possibly a roast chicken dinner tonight, and the usual weekend house cleaning and laundry, etc.  I need to switch over my clothes from summer to fall/winter, so I am thinking that today is a good day to get that done and over with too. Getting organized and decluttering!!

  • I worked.  My students were excited because A) we have a fall party B) it was my brithday so I brought in treats.  We had carmel apples, tha tthe students got to dip themselves, with about 10 different topping they could choose to put on them.
