Good places to buy inexpensive area rugs?

Since our wood floors will be done by the end of next week, I'm now in the market for a few area rugs.  I don't want to spend a ton of $$$ since I have 2 little kids and 2 pets so I anticipate them getting pretty beat up over the next couple of years.  I looked at Lowe's and HD and while their prices were pretty good, I felt limited in selection.  I'm looking to spend $300 or less per rug.

Ikea, Cost Plus, Pier One, Home Goods, Home Depot and Loews. All fit into your budget and usually have a nice selection. I don't know your style but my favorite rugs are at West Elm. If they're on sale you could snag a deal. Full price might be too pricey.

I always buy Ikea rugs because the cat likes to chew on the corners. Brat. My SIL has a few Cost Plus rugs and they've held up great with their 2 cats and my nephew.

Ditto to all of the above and I'd add Ross.  I found an 8x10 rug there (Mohawk brand like they sell at HD) for $58!  Like you, I have a LO and don't want to spend too much.  I couldn't pass up this deal and it was even the color/style I was looking for.

What about a carpet scrap store?  You can buy pieces and have them finish the edges.

Otherwise ikea or cost plus.

I got a great rug from QVC.  It was from their Linda Dano Collection.  The design was Damask but unfortunatley the larger size is no longer available in that design.  Mine is 7'6" x 9'6" and I only paid about $130.  It has been great and really warmed up our dining area in the kitchen--my linolium is terrible so I had to cover it up.  I love the rug. I have had it for several months and it is holding up great to 1 husband, 2 little boys, 2 cats and a dog.  They have a similar "Top Rated" paisley design that comes in the larger size.  Read the reviews, it really helps.  Here is the link
