Highlight of the Weekend (What was yours?)
It's been dead around here lately (I feel), so lets liven it up for Monday.
I had a good, albeit tiring weekend.
Excitement of the weekend: We told our parents we're pregnant.
There I said it. My dream wasn't about me, but I'm joining Sarah on the spring baby train. Updated ticker coming soon.
Re: Highlight of the Weekend (What was yours?)
AHHHHHHHHH you just made my morning!!! I love seeing news like this! Congratulations!!!!
Okay, I can't come up with any moment of my weekend that would top that....
Yay!
YES YES YES!!! CONGRATS SUSIE!! BIG HUGE HUGS FROM UP HERE!
I agree that is has been very very quiet recently. Hope things are going well for everyone.
I'm exhausted!! We had such a busy and long weekend. The weather was wonderful yesterday for T's pictures. A little hot and sticky but we did them in the morning so it was bearable. She got cranky towards the end. I saw some previews on the camera and they are sooooo cute! I can't wait to see them.
YAY for more Maine babies, congratulations hikingnclimbing!!
My weekend was really nice. We took the day off on Fri. for the Common Ground Fair and not only did it not rain, it was sunny and warm. We had a great day. So that's highlight #1.
Saturday was low key, I spent the morning with a salted caramel mocha and my computer, writing at Starbucks. We also walked around the land Matt's family owns that we are hoping to buy from them and 1) move my trailer to and 2) later build our house on. We saw a moose while walking through the property (it's all woods right now), about 150' away. Little dude was so excited and kept calling, "Mooooooose!" hoping it would come back. Hearing Matt talk about "our" house and stuff like that, highlight #2.
And yesterday we took the little dude apple picking! We had apple cider donuts, cider made at the orchard where we picked, and went on a hayride through the orchard. Afternoon at the orchard, highlight #3.
WAHOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Congratulations! Hoozah for b?b?s!!!
What great news! I spent my entire weekend slogging away in the trenches, trying to help my patients punch Death in the throat. And Death was a persistent little mosquito, buzzing around all the time.
It's awesome to hear about LIFE and LOVE and all that good stuff after a weekend like that.
[doing happy Snoopy dance]
Ha, ha! It didn't take you long at all, did it Susie?
I already posted separately, but we took DD to the pumpkin patch trolley at the Seashore Trolley Museum. She thought that was a lot of fun.
We also went to the Maine Maritime Museum on Saturday. DD did ok with that one. Her favorite was a reproduction of the wheelhouse of a 1950s ship. All she wanted to do was sit and steer the wheel.
Yay!!! So so so excited for you!! And great timing for the end of the school year!
Highlight of my weekend was that DH unexpectedly got it off from work. He still landscaped on Sunday, but Saturday we had a great family day!
Congrats Susie!!!
On a somewhat related note, the highlight of my weekend was finally making progress in the baby's room. My mom spent the day with me yesterday (while DH & my dad were at the race.) We made curtains and washed all of the littlest baby clothes & put them away. Cuteness exploded in my house!
This pregnancy thing was not all glittler & unicorns for me... but seeing all of these tiny little baby things in my house and knowing that I'll be holding him in a matter of weeks kind of makes it hard to be anything but FREAKING EXCITED!!! And impatient.
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!! My students now think I am crazy because I just did a touchdown hand raise in the middle of SAT prep!!
SOO exciting!
Our highlight was going to the Renaissance Fair and seeing how exciting the boys were about all the sights and sounds...
AND... next week I am getting a new ring! I fell in love with it while looking for a mother's day gift and DH is having it sent from another jeweler so we can look at it sometime this weekend!
Squeeeeeee! Susie I am so excited for you! Congrats! I hope you have been feeling well and that all is going smoothly

My highlight is that we put the baby's crib together yesterday. It's surreal to see an actual crib in the house.
Congrats lady!! Though I kinda figured when you posted on FB that you gave up coffee and alcohol for the school year
xoxo and hope you're feeling well. What's the due date?
Congratulations! I'm so excited for you!!
My weekend was super low-key; I got to sleep in Sunday and take a nap Saturday, both awesome highlights to the weekend
Um... nope! Remember the post I did asking "how long did it take you?" Yeah... we would be in the "super fast aka stupid lucky" group. The stars were very much aligned for us and our kiddo will be born right when we wanted. We know thta we are very lucky.
Oh, if only! This kid is already kicking my butt. I've been pumped up with fluids at the doctor's office once. And I've lost at least 4 pounds already thanks to utter and complete food aversions that make me never want to look at food. The first month I was sleeping 14+ hours a day (from 3PM to 5:30AM just about), so that totally sucked the life out of me. I thought that things were on the upswing, but yesterday, after telling our parents, I couldn't even eat the lunch we made for them without throwing up. I've been told I should get better eventually. I'm hoping they are right because this sucks!
I am so sorry you are feeling crummy! I hope you are able to find whatever works for you to cope! Know that there are medical interventions if you need them and don't be afraid to advocate for yourself!
Hang in there!!
Oh, Susie, I am SOOOO excited for you!!! Congratulations! I also had a feeling you might be pregnant, given the tenor of some of your recent posts. :-)
To answer your weekend question, highlights were meeting my friend's baby and going to another friends local foods cook-off party. Both were tons of fun!
My mother in law just screamed "NO WAY!" before my father in law knew what was happening. (We gave them both a framed ultrasound picture.) My mom got all giggly, which is about as much as I would expect from her considering how "non-emotional" she is. While we were all talking, my dad kept on rubbing his knuckles on my elbow and just smiling at me while he looked like he was about to cry. Overall, it was just how we expected. My FIL predicted my MIL to be on the phone until 9 or 10 calling EVERYONE, which is why we didn't tell anyone until we were through our first appointment.
ETA: Sorry, I don't know why I was quoting this or what I was going to say...I lost it.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wowwy Zowwy!!!!!!!!!!!
This makes me very very very very happy!
Congrats to you!
congratulations! hope you start feeling better soon...
there were certainly no highlights of my weekend worth mentioning in comparison to yours
The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware; joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware. -Henry Miller

What spectacular news! Congrats to you and Alan!!!! (Your ticker does me no good though- days left and percentage complete are Greek to me! Weeks, woman, I need weeks!)
Our weekend was boring and that was ok. There was plenty of TV and slacking, some yummy home cooked food, and lots of much needed cleaning. The highlight was the under $40 score of 10 great pieces of clothing at Lots for Tots for James on Saturday.
I'm 9 weeks this week. Over 2 months down. Time is flying already!
I had a feeling you were!!! Congrats!!! Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo exciting!!!!
