Re: PG/Mom Check-In

  • We're doing much better this week.  DH and I have both calmed down and are just ready to move forward and get ready for our little girl.  We have my 24 week OB appointment and our consult with the pediatric ortho specialist next week, so I'm excited to get a plan in place.

Other than that, things seem to be going well.  Baby Girl is kicking a ton now and it makes me so happy to feel her.  I've had a slight stomachache for a couple days now and some pains in my bump region, but I'm assuming it's eating too much of the stuff I baked this weekend and normal stretching/growing since she's still moving around a lot.

  • had my first baby shower on saturday! it was so wonderful and i was blown away by the people that came and all the sweet gifts we received for the LO... we even got the big stuff- a crib, carseat, glider, pack n play... i feel much better about only being a month or so away now... we are going to start putting together the nursery officially this week! yahoo!
  • It's 8:15, DH is out playing basketball in his nerd league, and DS won't go to sleep.  I hope he falls asleep soon because, thanks to that little bugger, mommy has been up since 5:30 this morning.  Mommy needs a cocktail.
  • DS is sleeping on his tummy right now. Thank goodness momma is getting some alone time.

He is doing great, still has some issues with feeding something but for the most part he does great. We had his 2 month doctors visit last week and was 24 inches long and weighs almost 13 pounds. He has chubby thighs which are so cute!!!

I go back to work in 3 weeks. Part of me is ready to go back and the other part of me will be sad to leave him. I cant believe how fast it has gone by. I dont know if I could be a SAHM as I like to be out and about and dont do that as much since he gets super fussy if we try to do too much in a day.

  • Chloe is head down and every time she moves her head it pushes against my bladder.  My second home is the toilet.

    I found a stretchmark, boo.

Feeling tired and anxious for this pregnancy to be over.... so ready to have my little girl here. =)

  • This is my first time posting in the PG/Mom post :)  How fun! :)

I was 14 weeks on Friday.  We went to the doctor last week.  We got to hear the heartbeat, which is always nice.  Everything seems to be going very well.

I go not this Friday, but the one after for my next ultrasound.  We will (hopefully) find out the gender then!!!  I can't wait to know so I can start to shop!!!

  • Zoe has started crawling! Today she has been exploring more. :) I think she didn't realize that she could get around. She just crawled to toys she wanted. I need to start containing her and baby proofing the house. I have been dreading this, lol! But it is so cute to see her crawl! She is not very coordinated with it yet!

She also started swim lessons this week! :) We have her in the Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) program. It is 5 days a week and lessons are 10 minutes each day. At her age, they teach the babies to roll over and float on their backs. At 1 - 4 years old they teach the toddlers to roll, float, swim to reach the wall of the pool without getting too tired. When your child is that age they get too tired trying to swim while holding their heads above water, so this teaches them to rest in between swimming and to call for help. They even put the kids in the water fully clothed during lessons so they know what to do if they fall in a pool with their clothes on. It is pretty cool. It is super expensive but my mom has helped with about half the cost. Living in Florida with all the pools and surrounded by water makes me want to make sure Zoe is a strong swimmer, and I really like the way they teach the lessons. The instructor is awesome, too!

Sounds like a great class!!!  Zoe is a very lucky baby.  She will be a swimming pro before you know it!

Oh and congrats on having a crawler :)  Let the fun times begin.  Just wait til she walks!!

  • Sorry it has been so long.  Technical issues have let me read the posts but not respond.  Next week we find out if Baby C is a boy or a girl.  I know I should be more excited and happy but whether it is hormones, stress, or what I keep getting these feelings of doubt and insecurity.  I know that getting past the m/c I had in January has been rougher that I thought but now my "moods" have been getting to H and he is an incredibly patient man.  Overall, I am excited but I can get past the being scared part.  Scared that something may be wrong and this baby won't happen.
  • I'm sorry that you're feeling that way.  If you don't mind me asking, how far along were you when you m/c last time?
