I need to hire someone to do a deep, deep clean on my house

Any suggestions? I need someone who is not afraid to work - I need ceiling fans cleaned, baseboards cleaned, windows cleaned, etc etc - I would do it myself but the husband refuses - suggestions?

  • I'd be interested in suggestions too since last time I hired someone, they did a terrible job and I wasted $160.

I know!! I found a woman in Anadarko that is AHHHH-mazing!! This woman will clean your bathtub with a TOOTHBRUSH - she is something else. But she can only come NOW and not after our kitchen is done (which is when I need all of this done). Boo.  It just seems like no one really wants to work very hard and honestly, I would just rather do it myself but the husband refuses to let me which is DUMB.

I don't get this at all. How could he not 'let' you clean your own house?

Because I work 70+ hours a week and he doesn't like that I then spend half of my weekend cleaning and doing laundry as well - in his mind I essentially do not get a break.

  • Then tell him to feel free to find, hire, and arrange a cleaning service ;)

He is the one that called the girl in Anadarko and found out she was busy. I was hoping someone on here could give me a good rec.

This is the company I was going to go with if we decide to hire a cleaning service to come in.  They're pretty detailed in what they do in each room.  I liked that you can customize their work to specifically clean whatever you need done.

I *think* I have found someone but am waiting on more information - DH talked to several companies today as well - one company quoted us five hours - that made me LOL. Another company quoted us 13 hours which sounds about right for what I want done.

If anyone has experience with Sooner Maids please let me know.....

  • Don't use Sooner Maids. I hired them to do a deep clean on my house and also hired the carpet cleaning people within the company... it was horrible. I was having them do our house before we moved in because we had renters in there, so there was no furniture and it was completely empty. They missed cleaning obvious spots, windows were a streaky hot mess, baseboards were covered in dust, the ceiling fans were disgusting, the bathrooms looked like they hadn't been touched. They called in the middle of everything and said they needed more time than the time allotted, which I agreed to because I wanted it to be thorough and done right... then I came to the house to that. I was NOT a happy camper. I don't know what they spent all that time doing. And the carpets - mother of Mary. The carpets looked like they hadn't been touched. I ended up renting my own carpet cleaner from Homeland and that ended up doing a better job than them. This got a little long - but my complaints and pictures of the obvious neglect of work also fell on deaf ears.

Oh Goodness. This is who we decided to hire.  This is good to know...thank you.

  • It has been a few years since I used them - so maybe they improved. Maybe they had lazy people at the time... I'm not trying to make excuses for shoddy work. But that was just my experience, and I hope it was an isolated one! Good luck!
